@zuntyh delivers 'Space 707' to the YUNG DUMB Records catalog to cap off summer 2020.  The France-native offers up four classically-influenced and floor-effective house numbers, varying in energy and mood, but never straying from a heavy focus on the rhythms and emotive grooves.  Jim Casanova's cameo appearance on the b-side comes with a left field club hybrid of the EP's most driven track, 'Work It', to close out the EP. Zuntyh's 'Space 707' EP is a timely mix of reflection and futurism, not to mention pure house music.

Germany’s Peter Grummich has been releasing his twist on House and Techno over the past two decades via the likes of Shitkatapult, Kompakt, Spectral Sound, Mule Musiq and of course his very own Innerbird. Here though we see Peter deliver his latest works via Bengoa’s fledgling B2 Recordings, which sees him experimenting with some outboard classics like the classic Casio RZ-1 drum machine and the Roland JX8P synthesizer to create a raw, old school feel.

Made in the solitude of rural and coastal Massachusetts, Dayspired comes forth with their latest EP “Rover,” a ghostly and rhythm-heavy affair. The title track begins with a repeated hang drum fragment which appears to rise out of the surrounding fog, lifted by synth flourishes, engulfing vocals, and a hypnotic bass groove that runs throughout. It would seem to be a song most fit to be played on a ghost ship.

“Rover” is followed with the second track on the EP, “Sometimes You Don’t Sleep,” which is equally poignant, but with a fiercer drum section and a more uplifting vibe. Light piano improvisations interact with heavy kick patterns, tightly chopped vocals weave with arpeggiated synths, culminating into a driving, and yet deeply personal lofi experience.

One of Bradley Zero’s latest mentees, Dayspired is a young audio-visual duo hailing from Boston. The group has already collaborated with an eclectic range of artists, including bassist Hash Vyas (of the acclaimed Thievery Corporation), jazz saxophonist Stephon Alexander, and vocalist Harrison Lipton, as well as remixed songs from the likes of Haulm and GoGo Penguin. Previous releases have received support from tastemakers around the globe, including the Apple Music editorial team, Indie Shuffle, Stereofox and Nest HQ. The duo has released music independently and through various imprints — Eton Messy Records, Grand Jury Music, and Dusted Wax Kingdom.

The duo is sitting on an arsenal of new unreleased music. Building off this autumn release, 2021 could be a big year for them.
