The 11th Palms & Flamingos´ release comes from Onosizo & Upstroke.

When listening to "The Craze Won´t Fade" EP, one immediately catches the vibe of Old School Funk mixed with a modern touch of Club Music. Upstroke, who provides the rhythms and synths on ʼThe Craze Won´t Fadeʼ and ʼStir It Upʼ refers to this as ʼCali Houseʼ. The synth-sounds lay smoothly under Onosizo´s voice, but it´s the bass-lines and the bass-sounds that give the songs that modern-day "Club-Push". They are hard to ignore on the dance-floor.

Sasha Upstroke already released an EP together with Palms & Falmingosʼ label honcho Click | Click on the Californan label Smoke Nʼ Mirrors. So it was only a question of time to bring him on the board of the Palms & Flamingos boat!

Onosizo, better known to most as Ono, was the frontman of the 90s Hip Hop band Walkin Large and of the Berlin based Electro-Rap-Crew Data MC. Even though the focus on this EP is on singing, rapping still comes naturally to him, On ʼNot Afraid To Danceʼ, produced by Intergalactic Rebel, he teams up with the talented LilʼAnn to deliver another Club Banger. While the track is heavy-bass driven, Onosizo and LilʼAnn smoothly bounce the Raps back-to-back and offer more than one reason to not be afraid to dance.

ʼMy Violet Dreamʼ, produced by DJ Derezon, is a moody love-song with a R&B groove and feel to it. The drum-sounds are well selected and suit Onosizo´s voice and performance perfectly. The lyrics are based on a real life situation.

As a bonus Jan Ketel, who had worked with Onosizo on his own "Drop It Low" EP (PNF010), completes the EP with his outstanding funkee & deep ʼHomies Dub Mixʼ of ʼThe Craze Won´t Fadeʼ.
