Anyone who's seen http://soundcloud.com/tillvonsein DJ will attest to what an excellent selector the Berlin talent is. His productions see him jump from his house music core to hip-hop and R&B-influenced downtempo jams and all inbetween, and have helped him to build up a formidable discography. Part of the SUOL family run by Chopstick & Johnjon that flies the flag for German house music, he's also graced the likes of Pets Recordings, Dirt Crew and Supplement Facts and continues to push a resolute quality-not-quantity ethos. Touching on his myriad soul, disco and funk influences across this retrospective mix that spans five years of productions, he brings his musical world to life in vivid colours.

*How would you describe your sound?*

Well, that's always a tough one. I would always call it house music. Sometimes deep, sometimes funky, sometimes soulful and sometimes tech or even progressive but in the end it´s always house...
but besides that there is always some R&B, some dub, dope beats and some electronica-inspired productions. I guess I'm not that typical stick-to-one-genre kinda artist.

*What and who inspires you and influences your sound?*

Travels, friends, music.

*Can you tell us a little about this mix and what it means to you?*

I never tried playing live or putting a mix of only my own tracks together so this is a new experience for me. It's kinda hard to just find the perfect balance within 60 minutes sometimes, and it's even harder when it has to be only your own material and it's the first time you ever try it.

Call Super’s highly distinctive productions and DJ-sets articulate a sense of otherness - a hazy, amorphous aesthetic that’s largely divorced from functional ‘dancefloor’ obligations, and all the better for it. With Suzi Ecto, his debut album from 2014, he has crafted an unconventional and absorbing record and continued to refine a style of music making that defies worthwhile comparison.
