As ever with the Hell Yeah crew, there is an interesting back-story to the label’s next release, the ambitiously titled Coast to Coast EP. Firstly, the title refers to the fact that Justin VanDerVolgen hails from the east and Doc Martin the west coast of America, but that’s not all…

The label boss first heard Alexander Robotnick’s Undicidisco*track in a set by Golf Channel associate *Justin Vandervolgen. He went to ask what it was and turns out the track had only been released digitally. Keen to give it the full release it deserved on wax, he fully licensed it and got a remix from the man who first played it, as presented here. So far it’s done well, with Running Back boss Gerd Janson playing it recently at P-Bar – of, course it went down a storm... and Beats In Space's Tim Sweeney shouting "This is the Jam"... wow

The track itself is seven minutes of playfully droning bass synths and boom-bap percussion. It’s alive with darting synth tweaks and twitches and races through outer space at an inviting pace, radiating good time vibes from start to finish.

It’s a similar story with the flip – Hell Yeah’s Marco heard one of his (and dance music in general) heroes, Doc Martin, playing the Florian Meindl's bass driven original mix and immediately wanted to give it a full release, but not before asking Doc for a remix.

That remix is released here and is a heavyweight, shuffling bit of house funk with a tight, knotted and tumbling bass refrain propping up soaring diva vocals and grainy, infectious claps. It’s a wavy and hugely inviting groove that has plenty of lip-curling attitude to it.

A fine release with a great backstory that comes complete with great vinyl artwork designed by Andrea Amaducci, this Coast to Coast EP is yet another fine weapon in the Hell Yeah cannon.

"Runs so deep it puts your butt to sleep", to paraphrase actor/musician Ice Cube in his seminal hit It Was a Good Day. And it is a good day for lovers of high-grade house music.

Szikra is Kornél Kovács at his most wistfully nostalgic. Ultra-smooth keys offset by noisy lo-fi breakbeats and vocals urging you to git fucked up, like Metro Area caught up... in smoke!

All the trademark sounds of the Barnhus massive are present - off-kilter playfulness paired with the cocky swagger of a south Stockholm roughneck and an infectious pop sensibility that lingers in your head long after the needle hits the inner groove.

The so-called Bónusz Beat is actually a track in its own right, sacrificing most of the hook and the vocals for a dubby smackdown ripe for adventurous dancefloors.

Young Stockholm producer Abdulla Rashim closes out the set with a perfectly horizontal techno groove, using only elements from the original production.

Colour Negatives collects three brand new tracks from the Digitalo founder. The late night rave funk session of “Fujicolor Pro 400H” spikes and spins on beams of concentrated energy. Those same infectious hooks dawn into the flip. “Agfachrome RSX II” is bright, clean and joy filled; Skatebård delivering pure goodness to nurture any bodies beginning to flag. Paranoia and the break of day enters with “Kodak Portra 800”, a minimal two stepping demon that cuts like vinegar. Shape shifting synthesizer sounds from an artist who simply ignores genres.

We are happy to present “Space Consciousness”, the first album on our little imprint composed by astro traveller Adham Zahran.

Born on a day where the Sun was aligned with the Eridanus Supervoid, a ray of energy from deep space unraveled an ancient force inside baby Adham that allowed him to share the wonders of the cosmos through some seriously funky house muzak.

The 9 track joint comes to you in a binary format with a 12” continuous analog excerpt. On top of that we asked Professor Chinaski, a proofed expert of the chaos theory and meteor card collector, to invert the albums intro into a slammy dancefloor banger, which the professional disc jockey won’t be able to resist.
