Nearly two years on from their last Casino Edits outing and marking six years of the label itself, Casino Times return for Casino Edits 5.

The A is a beefed-up take on a punchy European disco staple. An infectious groove is coupled with fluttering arpeggios and a rigorous bassline that builds tension throughout to deliver some peak-time power.

Meanwhile on the flip, B1 brings synthesised and organic voices together with eerie melodies and a low slung beat, creating a rock-infused haze. B2 finishes the release off on a house tip, with a relentless percussive loop that bends between mind-melting FX and an uncompromising square wave bass.

Me and Too Smooth Christ met Master Flashhh a couple of years ago when he was coming to in-stores we were throwing in record shops back then. We’ve started to chill together, talking about life, gear and Brittany. One day he sent us about 40 demos, saying he’d love to release his first EP on Supergenius Records. Impressed by the quality of the tracks, we instantly said yes. That was the easy part. The tough one was to select the tunes for this release, as each one was more amazing than the last.

Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Master Flashhh, new to the game but not newbie at all. Cinematic, audacious, thought-provoking, his music is carved with great attention to detail and storytelling. In Blue Eyes, the producer draws his inspiration from concrete architecture, backpacking in the Atacama desert on LSD (Los Salvajes Discos) and long solitary walks alongside the ocean in Finistère Brittany (Blue Eyes). Hailing from Paris red light district, his neighbors banging behind the wall gives him original sound material too (X-Rated). DJ Don Carlos (born Carlo Troja, from Varese-Italy) with his productions in the 90s has become one of the cult producers for DJs around the world.
His track Alone released in 1991 for Calypso (under the Irma Records label) was and still is one of the classics of House Music, played by all the major American and British DJs.
At the time of its publication it was considered an underground song and therefore did not sell very much, but over the years its myth has grown thanks to its subsequent productions as for example his second single, the EP entitled Mediterraneo, title which it will then inspired his first CD album printed in the USA with the same title.
Several other singles followed, another album, always printed only in the USA, entitled Aqua, from which a triple promo vinyl was extracted which today is one of the artist's most requested rarities.

Bosconi Home Cooked Beats brings together unreleased tracks from producers from Italy and elsewhere to raise money for the Banco Alimentare Onlus Foundation. This initiative tackles food waste and redistributes food surplus to charities helping provide meals to those in need in Italy, which are relied upon more than ever in response to this unprecedented moment of crisis. At the heart of the compilation and the artists who have contributed is a double mission: to support those who in this moment of need still have an essential right to food, and also for these artists to be recognised by Italian social and cultural institutions, which for the most part still do not see us as entirely ‘professional' figures. All proceeds from sales of the compilation and individual tracks up to 31 August 2020 will be donated to the charity.

We cook music with dedication and passion to feed the soul in the fertile soil of our inner world.

New label Fluid Electronics is set to sweep in with its debut ’Still Waters’ EP, coming courtesy of Dutch talent Rob Belleville, and supplemented by a choice revamp from Delsin stalwart and Transcendent boss, Conforce. Paving the way to the diverse array of music to be featured on the label, from house to techno through ambient, Rob steps up to the plate with a fine slice of brightly hued ambient tech making the rounds from heightened dub atmospherics to earwormy rhythmic experiments.  Fluid Electronics launches in the wake of its boogie- oriented sister label Fluid Funk.

Wrap your ears around the light-hearted opener and title-cut ’Still Waters’ and let the feels flow. Blending a delicate mixture of tape echo’d harps and chimes, foxily raucous bass and cascading hats n' snares, Rob eases us into a world of ethereal beauty and poetic visions that are bound to print a durable mark on the listener’s mind.  Going all in club-strike-force style, Conforce makes the engines roar and dishes out a nasty, steady-shooting roller primed for hi-voltage mid-set spec ops. Fusing the spaciousness of verbed-out aqueous envelopes with a sturdy drum prog that packs a punch, Bunnik hits hard and lands his dart smack-dab in the core target’s audio G-spot. 

 

’The Golden Hour’ expands further into heavy-lidded hypnagogic grounds. Shrouded in exhilaratingly deep, pre-dusky vapours, this late-afternoon groover will make an even greater impact in open-space settings, when you’re surrounded by nature and the sky oddly begins to feel close at hand. Closing tune ‘Lost From View’ sinks body and soul into an infinity pool of piano-riddled melody, soulful vocals and giddy drums all woven together by lusciously textured pads, scudding in slo-mo. A bespoke vibe-conducer, custom-cut for lazy daydreaming and carefree dancing, this one couldn’t sum up better what Fluid Electronics is about: warmth, fun and quality.
