For Marcela Dias Sindaco’s third release on the Oklahoma City label Fixed Rhythms, she delivers a full-length 2xLP of her characteristically magical electro. These songs were recorded in various studios across Brazil, capturing the intangibles of Brazilian city life. You can hear her influences (Detroit techno, kosmische synth travel, electro, etc.), but she distills it all yet again into something completely her own. Whenever you listen to her music, you know it’s her. Hypnotizing electro made on warm machines with her sung/spoken Portuguese woven enchantedly throughout…truly sublime listening. This is a 16 track groove journey that will make you a Marcela fan if you aren’t already one.

The two black 12”s come housed in a beautiful jacket that offers you a glimpse into Marcela’s world. The background of the artwork on the backside features a wallpaper design that you may find in an old home in Brazil. Inside is an insert written by Italian curator and philosopher Massimo Torrigiani. Only 300 copies pressed…don’t sleep on this one.

Leo Janeiro, founder of Cocada Music and a key figure in Brazil's house scene, unveils 'Carioca Flute / Som na Caixa', another step toward his debut album. Teaming up with Nathan 'Flutebox' Lee, 'Carioca Flute' blends flute and beatbox into a unique Brazilian-infused house groove made for the dancefloor. On 'Som na Caixa', alongside Zopelar, breakbeats meet the raw energy of Rio's baile funk, delivering a vibrant and forward-thinking cut. Two tracks that highlight collaboration, innovation, and the strength of Brazil's electronic scene.

We walk together through the deserted room. Nothing here now but at its peak this was a hive; something for someone, nothing to no one. Funny how things can change, decay is everywhere but is no less shocking nonetheless.

The wind hisses, the surface dust dances, your vision blurs and skin prickles. The dubby sounds of DJ Swagger have taken over and inhabited this place, breathing through the walls they set forward a chain reaction of activity. Perhaps this place is palatable, no desireable after all.

Yellow Island Records is a brazilian record label. Inspired by the creative and chaotic environment of São Paulo city, Felipe Bortoloti, better known as Nørus and Flávio Albino, aka Albin, founded the plataform in 2018 as a way to connect artists from different parts of the World.

Working on its seventh release, Various Artists 2020, Felipe & Flavio have managed to wrangle in singles from dance producers and artists from North and South America, Europe, and Australia. Our favorite tune from this 23 track collection comes from Melbourne native DJ Life, who was previously featured on our site with his tune Rock the Beat.

The track in question is 'Cost Price' from Australian based selector and producer, DJ SUNROOF, who has had some serious releases on the likes of 3 Feet Deep, and specialises in the sounds of UKG, Breaks, and heavily infused Bassline tracks.

'Cost Price' is a minimal track, complete with breaks and ambient sounds that will truly brighten up your day.

The Marsha P. Johnson Institute (MPJI) protects and defends the human rights of BLACK transgender people. We do this by organizing, advocating, creating an intentional community to heal, developing transformative leadership, and promoting our collective power.

We intend to reclaim Marsha P. Johnson and our relationship as BLACK trans people to her life and legacy. It is in our reclaiming of Marsha that we give ourselves permission to reclaim autonomy to our minds, to our bodies, and to our futures.  We were founded both as a response to the murders of BLACK trans women and women of color and how that is connected to our exclusion from social justice issues, namely racial, gender, and reproductive justice, as well as gun violence.
