Side A is a psychedelic cover of Jorge Ben's all time classic 'Carolina Carol Bela'. Very little is known about Os Brazoes except that they formed in Rio De Janeiro in 1969 backed Gal Costa during her early 'Tropicalia' years. The front man of the band is Miguel de Deus. This track appears on their self titled LP on RGE in 1969. This track has never been released on 7".

Side B features one of the unique, greats of Brazilian music Tim Maia. Maia was renowned for his iconoclastic, ironic, outspoken, and humorous musical style. E Necessario is taken from his self titled 1977 LP on Som Livre, previously unreleased on 7".

OUT NOW! Worldwide through Discotexas, ‘Mom and Dad’ is the first single to be taken from Xinobi’s upcoming album ‘1975.’ The Portuguese DJ, producer and musician AKA Bruno Cardoso has previously released tracks on via other notable labels including Ministry of Sound, Work It Baby and Nurvous and made waves with some high profile remixes and re-edits of John Grant, Riva Starr, Toro Y Moi and Nicolas Jaar to name a few. ‘Mom and Dad’ is a laid back, dreamy slice of Morricone-style lusciousness, combining sultry vocals and lilting guitars that drift off into the desert, dazed by the scorching sun. Despite Xinobi’s appetite for devouring various genres, there is a unique watermark and consistency to his output, due not least to his musical and arrangement-based skills.

Upcoming album ‘1975’ is special. It’s packed full of sonically-rich, epic productions that sound big, but not bombastic or over-baked. They take in elements of dub, surf guitar, deep house, disco and acid, all delivered with a pop sensibility and individual flare that sets it apart from other, more generic dance music long players. During 54 minutes, the album roves from contemplative moments, deep dance floor dynamics to memorable choruses, adorned with a colourful and joyous array of sounds that are beautifully produced.

Together with his friends and work-partners Moullinex and Mr. Mitsuhirato, Xinobi gave birth to Discotexas, a record label fast gaining traction, respect and renown.

"Nu-disco newcomer Eau Claire is bringing Stevie Wonder's "Uptight" into the modern age. The original song was released almost 40 years ago, but the Washington, DC-based DJ/producer adds a thumping beat, infectious piano melodies and an array of synthesizers to the oldies jam to update it for today's dance floor.  

The track starts with an Oliver Nelson-esque backbeat before Stevie's lyrics about his romance with a high class woman come in. The piano jumps on top of the vocals, taking over the listener's ears and body. Synthesizer lines playfully bound around the lyrics before Stevie gets into his first chorus and second verse with a deep beat backing him up. Everything comes to a climax around the middle of the third minute, with Eau Claire daring her audience not to dance to the irresistible tune."

Out 8th September, the third official single from Quantic’s immensely acclaimed ‘Magnetica’ album is “La Plata”, featuring the Colombian singer Nidia Góngora.

On remix duty, Werkha – who has been heavily championed by Gilles Peterson and in-demand for tour support including Bonobo and Chet Faker – brings a feast of bass and eccentric bleeps to the tropical rhythmic heat of the Nidia Góngora-voiced “Muevelo Negro”, for a sweltering UK summertime take on this club anthem.

A collection of covers of master Brazilian musician and writer Jorge Ben. With such classics under his belt as Mas Que Nada, covered by the likes of Sergio Mendes, Ella Fitzgerald, Dizzy Gillespie and Al Jarreau, and the song Taj Mahal which was the source of Rod Stewart’s Do You Think I’m Sexy?, Ben is a huge force in Brazilian popular music.

Often described as the James Brown of Brazilian music due to his prolific output, he is the most sampled Brazilian artist ever with people from the Black Eyed Peas to DJ Marky lifting elements off his tracks. His song catalogue has also been covered by some of the finest bands in Brazil.

This selection represents a more dance-floor orientated outing including mega rarities for the collecting fiends like Cosa Nostra by Os Mutreteiros Grilados and tracks that even Ben himself never got around to singing like Rei Do Maracatu's Cyro Aguiar.

At this time of year we're all looking for those tracks to set alight the parties, festivals and beaches of the summer season. Last year Souleance's 'Jogar' EP filled that gap, this time around they have delivered once again with the addictive, brassy bounce of 'Secoue'. Taking their influence from the Haitian style of meringue known as Compa, Fulgeance and Soulist have crafted an instant dancefloor bomb. 'Secoue' translates to 'Shake' which is about as appropriate a title as you're going to get.

Gil e Jorge is a 1975 album featuring collaboration between Brazilian musicians Jorge Ben and Gilberto Gil. The two perform together alongside percussionist Djalma Corrèa on each of the songs, improvising and interacting directly throughout. It was listed by Rolling Stone as one of the 100 best Brazilian albums in history

Born in 1974 and raised in Egion where he started working as a dj at the age of fourteen.
In parallel to djing, he delves into production as an artist and co founder of Cast-a-Blast in 2006. Along with Blend Mishkin he forms the duet Palov and Mishkin, launching the compilation “Backslam Extravaganza” (2007). They then went on to release the widely praised album “Think Twice” (2009) while at the same time remixing and editing for highly acclaimed labels such as G.A.M.M., Rebtuz,  Resense, Bastard Jazz, Tru Thoughts ,Love Monk etc.
Since then Palov went on to release his debut solo “Whats That” revealing the smooth musicianship between him and the guitarist player Angelos Angelides. Within as well outside the framework of this partnership he forged production and remixing collaborations with several artists including Caro Emerald , Mo’ Horizons, Lady Faye ,Maraveyas Illegal, Daniela Bolano, Kill Emil and BNC.Nowdays he’s collaborating with Panama Cardoon and together they’re running a label called Carnibal.
Actively djing all this time he has shared the decks with well known djs/producers like Quantic, Andy Smith, Bonobo, Nickodemus ,Lack of Afro ,Florian Keller, Jon Kennedy ,Henry Storch ,Ben Lamdin ,7Samurai, Herbaliser ,Tm Juke , Mo’Horizons , Rob Luis  to name a few.
