Ratigar is a Moscow-based DJ/producer. His sets primarily focus on dark and hypnotic techno,  infused with hardcore, IDM and electro and Ratigar's extensive vinyl collection is often showcased in his sets. Ratigar has released several tracks on the Berlin label ACHT and is currently working on an EP.

It’s Monday and despite our inevitably ill fated attempts at “having a quiet weekend before ADE” we’re in a spectacularly good mood here at Data Transmission HQ. No, it’s not the detoxing effects of kale smoothie that we’ve consumed this morning ( DT has concluded that kale is like the bacon of the vegetable world, only, rather than being delicious and kind of horrible for you, it's extremely healthy and almost impossible for us to enjoy) it’s the fresh mix from Berlin based producer and songwriter Emika. 

An unconventional artist who refuses to be constrained by genre boundaries Emika has long been able to count us a fans; her unique compositions have continually moved with the ever-evolving world of electronic music, her amalgamation of her signature dark textures with beats and vocals as evidenced on her last two albums consistently impressing. With the likes of Thom Yorke and Mary-Anne Hobbs similarly enamoured with the works of the half Czech songstress you can imagine our excitement at securing her services for our podcast as the latest esteemed name to join our illustrious list of alumni. Fatal Morgana was formed in the ghetto’s of Amsterdam at the end of 1988 when Mr. Fact and E. Smidt started to experiment with their equipment and get released their first single “I Believe” on the Belgium label Antler-Subway (home of Klinik, Poesie Noire, A Split Second, The Overlords…). From that point things started to take off very fast. Their mutual ideas ended up in a new maxi “Attention” (club-charting in several countries) and the debut album “The Destructive Solution” in 1990.

This album was composed in their own FM-Studio and showed another side of the band. Darker than before. You can find danceable EBM stuff together with some atmospheric and orchestral tracks. All songs contained their view on matters like politics, environment, oppression, etc.

“The problems of nowadays are solved with solutions which will lead to the total destruction of mankind. Most people think that these solutions will solve the world problems but… this is just a Fatal Morgana!”. This was written in 1990 as a prediction of what is a happening now… 30 years later.

“The Final Destruction” brings together all songs from their album plus some tracks from singles and compilations. Everything has been remastered and enriched with an extended artwork based on the original design.
