It's time to present a new edition of DSSmix! This time we invited Santiago Ritacco, who is undoubtedly one of our favorite selectors in the current Spanish scene. His selections and skill in finding gems from the 90s and mid-00s make him a standout artist. It's also worth noting that Ritacco collaborated with us on our first compilation with his project R&I. It's a great pleasure to have you in this series.

1. How and where was the mix recorded?

I recorded it at my home in Tenerife. We programmed it several months ago, so I had time to make a good selection of what I wanted to play.

2. Can you tell us about the idea behind the mix?

The idea behind this mix was to create a podcast dedicated to what I usually play on the dance floor, including many unreleased tracks from upcoming projects and edits, always with my signature 90s sound.

3. What are you up to next? Projects, ideas…

In a few weeks, we have the Dias De Campo festival (which inspired me a lot for this mix), several upcoming dates booked, and we continue working on our label Toscal Records, where we are preparing our first vinyl and promoting the local scene with my group of friends from Carne Fiesta.

4.- Lastly, for you what is Dance, Shake, Swing!?

I've known Leo for many years, I think even before they founded this brand, and they are doing a great job in the Barcelona scene. I hope they continue for many more years!

Brazilian, NYC-based FI-LO @filofortheworld does it right as our guest for this month's episode of Little Creatures! This mix is full of housey goodness for the soul - from smooth to bouncy and bringing it right back to some nice and sleek grooves for the end.

I created this mix for the Opera Festival team: a dynamic gathering held in Milo (Sicily, IT) during the summer, showcasing bold and innovative artists. When Andrea approached me to collaborate, I was grateful beyond words. While the original plan was to showcase VERTICAL RING (an ASMR ambient meditation piece recently released on Spotify and YouTube), I decided to expand the scope by presenting a selection of my favorite, previously unheard studio works spanning ambient and microtonal explorations. This mix offers for the first time a unique glimpse into my interpretation of ambient music. I hope you enjoy it <3

It’s hard to believe that I posted five years ago about picking up a new record collection from Italy. For those interested in hearing a little (or quite long) story on the background of it, I will post about it in the comments on YouTube. I will also attach some photos & videos of the collection and it's condition on Instagram.

TL:DR Here’s a mix of about 20 or so vinyls that were found in an Italian record collection that was purchased in early 2019. This mix ranges of mostly house, deep house & tech house, and a bit of surface noise. This is a small showcase into what the collection had.
