Almost two hours in length it navigates many favorite genres and artists represented by the Michigan based label, Ghostly International. Just look at this amazing tracklist! In 2009, Ghostly celebrated its 10 year anniversary as a label, with many shows across the globe. This year, the label is commemorating a decade of performances at Decibel Festival. The 10th Ghostly showcase at Decibel will feature live performances from Dauwd, Beacon, Lusine and Shigeto (Friday, September 27th at the Crocodile) and you know that I’ll be there all night!

Meanwhile, Jakub Alexander (that’s Heathered Pearls), a curator of the ISO50 blog and founder of Moodgadget Records, has just released a digital remix album, titled Loyal Reworks, featuring many great artists, including Sun Glitters, loscil, Markus Guentner and Lawrence. After the widely successful release of „Summer in Jakarta“, Jakarta Records figured it’s time to gather some artist we like, work and/or are friends with again for the second installment of the loose series. „Winter In Jakarta“ features all unreleased material by artists such as Stwo, IAMNOBODI, Mura Masa, Oddisee, Guts, L’Orange, Suff Daddy and many more. Lemonick is Nicolas Baillie from Switzerland, an up-and-coming producer with a knack for creative rhythmic constructions, especially when it comes to building sharp, propulsive yet refreshing drum tracks. His musical devices of choice are atmospheric grime hybrids polished up by gracefully recontextualized bass-music trademarks from a variety of styles.

His fourth EP to date obeys a pattern that sets it apart from his previous output and lands him a spot amongst a somewhat new school of artists that adheres to Night Slugs' cult-status melodic aesthetic and functional structure.

"Flash Street" is a classy addition to this growing niche-turned-scene that we wholeheartedly support and we must say it's refreshing to release some music that shouldn't stand alone because it's part of a bigger picture - a group of artists from all over the world that are following the written and unwritten guidelines of probably the most influential label in recent times.

Bristol based clubnight-cum-label Crazylegs have held a keen finger to the prevailing winds of UK dance music for a minute now. Last year, the label was the nearest thing to a guiding compass for making sense of UK club’s colliding co-ordinates: their release-schedule plated up everything from quickfire grime (see Gage and Ziro) to solid sunshine house (in Tommy Rawson), while also packing in one of the summer’s finest gems in Murlo’s refix of ‘You and Me’.

In the same year, the imprint gave us a solid induction to Welsh tag-team ISLAND via an all-originals production mix — an introduction to their distinctive soundworld through pneumatic grime, off-beam edits and jagged club hybrids. After a rising tide of support from Mssingno, Evian Christ and Eclair Fifi, the pair follow up with ‘Nokia’, their 6-track debut EP, dropping April 6th. Get a first taste via ‘Vola’ now — a widescreen neon stonker built on shining vocal shards and clattering drums.

Sintetizzatrice is the first recorded document of the collaboration between veteran DJ and producer Donato Dozzy and female vocalist Anna Caragnano. Through his solo work, and in his collaboration with Giuseppe Tilleci (Neel) as Voices from the Lake, Dozzy has achieved some of the most remarkable vistas contemporary electronic music has seen since the turn of this century. By removing himself from his areas of mastery to shift his focus on the voice, he has achieved a new peak with Sintetizzatrice. Over nine tracks, Dozzy works exclusively with the voice of Rome-based vocalist Anna Caragnano, with no other instruments. Heavy layering and effects processes are used to display an astoundingly versatile voice-centric vocabulary. Rarely can a record morph from R&B to kosmische, through traditional Italian folk music, to Fluxus styles and traditional chamber choir with no additional instrumentation. Just a singular, beautiful voice. The results are simply phenomenal. With the opening, "Introduzione," an immeasurable cosmic weight arrives and remains through the duration of the album. "Star Cloud" ascends with melancholy extended drones that evaporate concepts like time and being, rendering basic human perceptions void all the way through "Parallelo." "Parola" dances around the stereo field with dazing rhythms and melodies, while "Festa (A Mottola)" is an homage to the traditional music found in the rural region where, coincidentally, both Dozzy's mother and Caragnano were born and raised. The album's closing pieces "Love Without Sound" and "Conclusione" hit hard in a way to which no words can do justice. By fearlessly entering uncharted territories, Dozzy and Caragnano have made a collaboration which is truly experimental. Sintetizzatrice is a grand debut for Anna Caragnano and a fantastic twist for Donato Dozzy. Produced and mixed by Dozzy at Alaska Studio, Rome, in 2014. Mastered by Giuseppe Tilleci at EnissLab Studio, Rome. Transferred to tape by Pietro Micioni, Angelo Compagnoni, and Massimo Zuccaroli at Village Studio, Rome. Secretsundaze 17th release comes from London based producer Endian. Releasing just 2 EP's in a few years on Non Plus and Electric Minds, Endian has nevertheless managed to to turn the heads of the likes of Steffi who used one of his tracks for her Panorama Bar compilation and Boddika who also licensed a track for a various artists EP. Sounding like a producer far more experienced than the two releases would indicate, it came as no surprise that this is far from the the output of a novice but the seasoned veteran George Levings aka Commix (Metalheadz). 

Endian has been a regular at secretsundaze events over the years and a friendship developed with Giles and James. The project is an outlet for him to release the more technoey and house sound that he is increasingly inspired by.
 
Lead and title track 'Finish Me' is a stone cold killer. Ballsy, raw and over driven in the mix, a tribal breakbeat groove builds before brassy stabs sneak in. The peak of the track sees dramatic pads cut through for a moment of serenity before the drums drop back in. Joy Orbison used 'Finish Me' in his Essential mix late last year and its also been a highlight of secretsundaze's sets over last 6 months. 'Techno To Finish' goes deeper with a layer of fuzzy warmth enveloping the track. Driving but definitely one for the later hours or early on with its hypnotising flow and subtle musical flourishes. Last up 'Sub Tropic' is a heads down, growling, low slung techno track with its deep sub bass. This is definitely a track you can imagine hearing in the bowels of Berghain well into Sunday daytime. 

'Finish Me' is arguably Endian's best work to date and it's another fine addition to the secretsundaze catalogue.

"Just" wastes no time locking the brisk rhythm into place before a wriggling earworm of a lead pans across the channels.
