Avenue Red Podcast welcomes Marseille-based DJ/artist Sarah Goldfarb for his debut mix on the series. Mastermind of the most hilarious and incisive techno scene memes (for which he is fast becoming uniquely infamous), he is best known to us for his scintillating, deep, shimmering, minimal, clicky micro house & techno releases pressed in the 2000's.

Many older Avenue Red heads will recall some of the important labels he graced, including: Riley Reinhold's Trapez Ltd; Treibstoff; Dumb-Unit; Curle Recordings; 200 Records; Toys For Boys Records and more. It's great to have him back, adding his fresh, zesty ideas once again to this rather murky and unusual realm of the underground. This mix is truly magical. Taste it.

For the 5th instalment of the Frontier series we are excited to welcome Vuo Records boss Tm Shuffle to the series. Hailing from Finland, Tm Shuffle, aka Jukka Hänninen has been Dj’ing since 1991, and producing music since ’98.  Dedicating himself to the deep end of the House and Techno spectrum.

  For his Frontier mix he has presented his usual style of super deep, atmospheric and often emotive and trippy Dub Techno - Which is exactly what we wanted. This style is reflected in both his DJ sets and his productions. Having released on some of the worlds most respected labels including the likes of Stardub, Mouche, Outlaw, Ranges, Kontakt, What Robot Says, spclnch and Ohm Series. 

  This mix includes some new tracks , some old ones and some unreleased material. We'd like to thank Jukka for his contribution to the series , we're honoured to be able to host such talent.

After starting the mini Dekmantel Selectors podcast series last year, we couldn’t resist continuing it with artists from this year's line-up. In the next couple of months, we will release 5 podcasts by some of our favourite artists. This year’s podcast theme is all about 'another side of me', wherein the artists show another side of theirselves.

Last but not least in this year’s Selectors podcast series is longtime Berghain resident Marcel Dettmann, who has brought his penchant for dark, stripped-down and raw techno to many Dekmantel events over the years. With a steady, masterful touch behind the decks, Dettmannn never fails to whip us and the dancefloor into a frenzy, which is exactly why we keep tapping his talents again and again. Though, this year
Dettmann takes another road at dives deep in his pre-techno period with the brand new Selectors compilation(including tracks from Cabaret Voltaire, Martin Dupont, Twice A Man and Fad Gadget)an opening set at Dekmantel Festival and a performance at Dekmantel Selectors in Croatia.

Just as with his Selectors compilation, Dettmann shows another side of himself with this mix. “My Selectors compilation is a labor of love: a collection of songs that have not only long been out of print or never released on wax, but which also served as my artistic foundation – as well as for Techno at large. The Selectors podcast on the other hand has a similar vibe but an entirely different intent. I think of it as an addition to the compilation, with music not included on the actual release. But more than that, it flows like an updated mixtape or a collection of music that I'd record for people I’m close to. The podcast is continuous listening, a fitting soundtrack for a night drive or for work. Importantly, it's music that influenced me when I was a teenager – and beyond. In other words, it's a personal affair.”

Divina Mundi: Tales of a dream and an acoustic reconstruction

When I enter the forbidden world, I'm frozen. I don't move, I look around. Everything seems strange to me and everything is completely different from what I am used to. I have no idea what's happening to me right now and I feel scared. This place is bursting with life and the creatures don't look like normal animals, but are much more airy and abstract. Every time I try to look at them, they disappear again, which makes it difficult to make an accurate observation. They make noises, which sound very harmonious and oscillating and have a mystical effect. The atmosphere in this place is completely filled with these benevolent sounds without being perceived as disturbing. I realize that this world is and has always been in perfect balance. In this pre- or post-human reality there is nothing that can disturb this tender and sensitive harmony. This thought is disturbing, because I know that a wrong action on my part would disturb this balance and endanger this utopian system. So I stay calm and observe everything without moving. Every object in this world is in motion and everything seems to revolve around a center point, which is too abstract to be recognized by me as such. Entropy is not present in this world. There is no intrinsic quest for disorder, because everything is perfect.
