The Boogie Brothers' Let Go feat. SATO is one such track.  It was cooked up by Japan-based Julian Brennan and Cal Gibson (The Secret Soul Society) as a live disco jam that channels Arthur Russell, FK and Larry Levan. Sato from Japanese cosmic pop duo Viva Sherry was brought on board to provide vocals, and the result is a release that sounds like a modern disco classic.

Suntime is defo the most psychedelic of this offering. Straight up peyote drenched style synths with plenty of those ace whirly style stabs amongst a lazy swung arp & rolling percussion work.

Broken Song closes off the party and is certainly the disco member of this family. Funky as heck bassline action with a warped up vocal stab fitting nicely around some cosmic-esque style synth work. Serious neck & head-nodding workout vibes.

Presenting the biggest team-up crossover since Nick Fury popped up at the end of Iron Man comes a clash of Paper family titans as From Beyond goes toe to toe with the forces of Super FU for a proper banger.

Runnin' Around has both camps going full tilt on the dance floor throttle and bringing their A game from the worlds of soul, disco and house. Infectious arped synths groove alongside analogue bass and lush piano stabs, all wrapped up in a Crazy P nodding vocal that hits the sweet spot between pop, disco and machine music.

Lakeshouse release their second  EP on Paper Disco and its a fantastic four tracker that blends the sounds of the Norwegian club scene with exotic rhythms and Berlin melancholy.  Behind the name is a production team of DJs, artists and jazz musicians based in Oslo and Malmö. 

Their debut 'Firkanta EP' came out early this year and was well received by both DJ Mag and Mixmag for their 'bonkers' Norwegian spin on disco and house. It gained support from the likes of Alexander Robotnik, Bottin, RSS Disco, Andy Buchan and Diskjokke to name a few. 

Opener 'Folkemusikk' gives us the spirit of Kraftwerk crossed with Scandinavian cosmic boogie. All served with sparkling synth patterns, loopy melodies and a catchy Norwegian vocal hook that translates as 'this is folk music'. A sample of a traditional Norwegian fiddle cements the track's message: 'Dance Music Will Never Die!'. 

Next up, 'Papaya' is a samba-techno party with aggressive house-chords, wonky bass and a steel drum hook that carries you to the Caribbean. 

'NRK' slows it down into ambient-techno territory with a stripped down beat of soundscapes and basslines. Its a deep dive into dusty archives and ghosts in the machine. 

Finally 'Lov' is a heart wrenching electro-pop ballad. Diametrically opposed emotions are re-lived through human-robotic vocals, 606-drum machines and a bombastic horn section.

Lakeshouse manage to blend profound concepts and slick production in an EP of future pop and disco.

Spanish disco dreamer James Rod is back on Paper with some superb cosmic business.  The psychedelic artwork made by Fama de America is a good indicator of what's on the EP, out there aceness!

Belong City has a classic arpeggiated bass with effected guitar, 80s synths and crashing pads as it builds with heavy atmospherics. After the break, things are stripped things back as the bass follows a new progression but the the vibe stays. This is cosmic disco at its best and if you're a fan of DJ Harvey's sets, its for you.

Manchester's own cosmonaut, Daco is drafted in behind the controls and space is the destination. Loose rhythms, analogue synths, big room atmospheres and 4am stylings make this another must-have.

Chamanes Ochenteros keeps the cosmic but is more laid-back affair. Synths and arps are in full effect as the track wears its italo influences loud and proud. Its like the best 80s theme tune you've never heard but with modern production.

Bergen's Leca gives the track the full Norwegian wobble treatment. Sub and square bass make room for the acid as reverberated styling and groove take things weird and wonderful.

Crashing onto Paper Disco with a razzle, a dazzle and a heavy dose of funking brilliance is Anoraak with his Fire Inside EP.

The title track is a chuggy groove workout with some serious Bernard Edwards style bass alongside funky as heck piano stabs, disco strings (of course!) and a conga workout. Add a great vocal from Lauren Turk and its a disco doozy. 

Up To You follows suit with another stomping bass line leading the charge before dipping into disco house. With a snazzy vocal sample, rolling percussion and spacey chords, its proper dancefloor tackle.

The man, the machine, the Emperor! He's back at Paper and gives Fire Inside a stretched out 'maxi edit' with extended scenarios, space dub delays, tension builds and lots more in that magical way that only he can.

There are a few folks returning from previous outings with Danny Russell & Ronald Christoph dropping another chopped up disco funk bomb on 'Future's Gonna Get You'. Brian SNR is back with a wicked slo-mo chuggy'n dubby offering on 'Hot Shot' whilst JB Dizzy breaks out the arpeggiators to devastating effect on 'Freak Street'. The dancefloor is ablaze once again to the sounds of Liverpool's finest, Kooky & Damoon. They return to Paper Disco with a third outing, the snappily titled 'EP3' and its another slice of slickly produced disco with a wink to cosmic and a nod to Studio 54.

'Got To Be Real' has lovely piano chords, hip shaking bass, Quincy Jones style strings and stunning vocal from Joanne Steele, who delivers it direct to the floor.

Joanne returns on I''m With You' which goes in deeper, with a big room disco acid bass alongside funky as hell guitars and lush strings. Infectious, catchy and equally at home in a dark basement or main room Ibiza.

Remixes come from a pair of disco hotshots with James Rod tackling Got To Be Real whilst Andy Buchan reworks I'm With You, each taking things heads down  to the party. BOOM!

Norway's next big things Lakeshouse have called on friends to give their two EPs the re-rub treatment and what a job they've done.

The band themselves have taken Firkanta downtown to deep house with their trademark sparking production, musicality and dynamics. It's held down with a 4/4 and nagging bass but filled with all kinds of disco wonderfulness from the original that is aimed full square at future thinking dance floors.

Jarle Bråthen takes a break from the Telemark Express project to flex his muscles on NRK. Stuttered drums and driving bass hold the original parts together for a lovely krautrock balearic take on the original.

RSS Disco serve up a massive filtered dirty bass that brings some serious funk. Added acid and the Norwegian vocals make this a deep late night head mangler. 

Finally Reggie Got Beats takes Ambulanse by the scruff of the neck and gives it a good old shake. Bumping house with a large helping of disco magic bring the NYC swing for late night good times.
