The fact that the previously vinyl-only Ron's Reworks edit series has finally landed on digital download is a very good thing indeed, especially since the man behind the project - nu-disco don Ron Basejam AKA Jim Baron of Crazy P - has been responsible for some fine re-edits over the years.  'Revelation' is a sparkling rearrangement of a life-affirming, piano-laden number that sits somewhere between jazz-funk, Latin jazz, spiritual jazz and disco.

Keep On Moving stomps out of the gate with a relentless as heck bass line backed up by trippy synth stabs & chords that drives & drive you headfirst into the outer regions of your mind (and the dance floor).

Beat From The East goes down a slightly deeper route and is like a pitched down techno thumper which names up to its namesake with some pretty nifty far east style shenanigans in its breakdown which is ably assisted by some trusty piano stabs. Hooky as you like.a proper banger.

Suntime is defo the most psychedelic of this offering. Straight up peyote drenched style synths with plenty of those ace whirly style stabs amongst a lazy swung arp & rolling percussion work.

Broken Song closes off the party and is certainly the disco member of this family. Funky as heck bassline action with a warped up vocal stab fitting nicely around some cosmic-esque style synth work. Serious neck & head-nodding workout vibes.

PBR Streetgang are Bonar Bradberry and Tom Thorpe. A a pair completely submerged in the world of club music their entire adult life. Their debut release was ‘Never Get Off the Boat’ in 2008 on Croatian label Red Music Records and since those early beginnings they have released on Futureboogie, Throne Of Blood, 2020Vision, Hot Creations, Crosstown Rebels and Skint Records. Their remix work has included Kylie, Lana Del Rey, Bryan Ferry, Hot Chip and Friendly Fires and more. As DJs they have played across the globe at almost every venue and festival of credible note. Outside of the studio and the booth, their residency on Rinse FM has become one of the mainstays of the stations, hosting international guests and fresh talent each month. PBR’s label, Kurtz Records, was created by the duo as a platform for their own output and as a stage to champion some of their favourite new artists as remixers.

Fast forward 20 years … 20 f’kin years! 

To many crowds the world over PBR Streetgang are known and loved for their talents behind the turntables, but to others they are producers and remixers whose eclectic taste and evolving style has seen them enjoy longevity and much acclaim. To celebrate this milestone PBR bring us a rare selection of originals and remixes that shows the breadth and depth of their work. 

Featuring early originals that propelled them into the limelight, like ‘Downstroke’ and ‘J2Thab’, and more recently their stand-out disco tinged nugget from their debut album ‘Late Night Party Line’. Previously un-pressed remixes like the cult classic rework of Romanthony’s ‘Bring You Up’, the slow chuggy sleaze of Bryan Ferry’s ‘One Night Stand’, and the teary-eyed euphoria of their remix of Hot Chip’s ‘Melody of Love’.

This compilation represents an honest retrospective of the production and remix talents of PBR Streetgang. Always keeping true to their sound, and true to themselves.
