we ball

recently i've been struggling to make music, ESPECIALLY for myself. even though i still enjoy making music and want to make music all the time, it feels more and more difficult to sit down and work on music.

i’ve been wanted to make a proper ep/album for a few years now, but progress has been slow. however, this ep was made in just a day (ish*)—just a big explosion of emotion and ideas—and was meant to be wacky, but still genuine and emotional. i just wanted to tell my brain:

“HEY!!!!! you still got this!!!!!!!!!!!! stop putting yourself down!!!!!!!!!!! if you can do THIS, you can do ANYTHING!!!!!!!!”

the artwork and is inspired by an accidentally profound thing a friend said:

we were at the park drawing together, and i said "dang, why are trees so hard to draw.” i was trying to draw one of the trees at the park as accurately as i could.

but a friend quickly replied: "what do you mean? trees are easy to draw, see!" and drew a super simple tree.

i think about that a lot.
