Legendary DJ Daniele Baldelli, who was resident at the infamous Cosmic Club on Lake Garda and pioneer of the ‘cosmic’ sound, joins forces with Italian maestro DJ Rocca and takes File Under Disco on a journey into outer disco space.
Famous as an extremely eclectic and open-minded DJ, here Baldelli transports this approach to the production of ‘Funknoizer’. And in the hands of a master producer like Rocca the result is a track which fuses Dub, Afro, Disco and electronic elements seamlessly into a tasty alternative discoid brew.
Remix action comes from Brasilian duo Selvagem (big fans of Baldelli) who’s reputation grows and grows with every spin of each record and every release that passes through their talented hands. Here they dress the original in leopard skin pants and throw into into an all night, outdoor carnival party where anything goes.
Next up Pete Herbert & Dicky Trisco take the original on a heads down Disco trip and work it to the bone. Live driving bass, funky clav and a glorious piano line do a wonky waltz with the the Afro dub essentials of the original. 
Finally the man himself DJ Rocca treats us to a very classy disco boogie version that would have rocked legendary parties back in the halcyon days of NYC Disco.  Out now!

PREMIERE : Daniele Baldelli & DJ Rocca - Funkynoizer (Selvagem Farofa Mix)

After reaching volume 7,  LAGASTA's "Late Summer" ongoing compilation series has now become a trademark for the ending of summer. Featuring some of the finest tracks of the year, the compilation is packed with sun-kissed, groove-filled tunes that provide you with a never-ending summer feeling. Fueling many blissful joyrides at no cost and free download as always. 
Now, LAGASTA is proud to present something new and special in the form of a double-vinyl album. A tangible compilation series, entitled "Last Gas Station", which is compiled with only exclusive tracks. The first "Last Gas Station" compilation features 12 new tracks and aims to showcase artists that the site has followed for many years, as well as  promising talents to keep an eye on. It also marks the launch of our exciting new label, LAGASTA Records.
The collection's opening track is a sunshine-filled slice of daytime disco from LA's duo Poolside recent album "Heat", which is remix by Baio, aka Vampire Weekend's bassist Chris Baio. Next one is Crew Love’s David Marston, who teams up with Dan Izco for a blissful ride. Mexico's finest Zombies in Miami deliver a dancefloor odyssey in the form of "Temple of Love", while Italian duo Marvin & Guy drop an epic slow-burner called "Asbek". 
DFA’s Greek mastermind Larry Gus  never ceases  to amaze us with yet another example of what he does best, followed by “Charlie Rose”, a classy, club-ready track from Brooklyn's duo Vito & Druzzi, aka Vito Roccoforte and Gabriel “Druzzi” Andruzzi, best known for being the drummer and multi-instrumentalist of DFA’s The Rapture.  Next up, Adelaide-based producer James Curd and Turbotito, aka Los Angeles producer Filip Nikolic of Poolside, have joined forces once again for a new collaborative tune “Lost" filled with warm grooves and melancholic synths, followed by our favorite NY unstoppable disco funkers Midnight Magic with their infectious track "Through The Motions" of pure disco glory. 
Woolfy Vs Projections, the duo of California-based musicians Simon “Woolfy” James and Dan Hastie, keep the summer vibes going with their track "Your Past Behind", a quality example of the signature sound.  Disco Halal’s Moscoman teams up with MoRayon for an extra dose of lush vibes on “Play No Game". LA's Daniel T. takes us for a ride with "Moonlight Bounce", a perfectly crafted tune full of melodic soundscapes, while Peaking Lights Acid Test, the live instrumental disco project of APC (Aaron Coyes of Peaking Lights) closes the compilation in the best way possible with a gorgeous slice of synth rhythm heaven.

Following the success of Mildlife's 'Phase', Research brings you an all-star cast delivering their take on their pick from Mildlife's debut album released early 2018 via Research Records. 

Melbourne-Berlin transplant, master producer Tornado Wallace kicks off the EP with his take on 'The Magnificent Moon'. Wallace delivers a stripped back, break infused cruiser, mutating Kevin McDowell's vocals into an unknown alien tongue whilst staying true to the originals infectious melodies. 

Joining Wallace on the A side is Melbourne's own, Butter Sessions label-bosses, beat makers and party starters, Sleep D.The duo takes you on uncharted odyssey through their version of 'Im Blau'. Psychedelic swells lurk under dubbed out chords, cosmic fragments of the original are revealed before a bounty of bongos and congas take over! 

On the flipside Swedish disco-house rockers Mount Liberation Unlimited turn 'The Gloves Don't Bite' on its head with an extended 12-minute take! A re-imagined bass line mixed with quirky Swedish vocals, and their signature drum freak-outs makes for a memorable ending to this diverse EP.

Amsterdam based Chris Taylor, the mind behind Aan Zee may not be a familiar name to some, but his unique sound, we hope, will become something you will return to time and time again. 

Channelling the choicest ingredients from the galaxies of left-field Disco, library nuggets, lo-fi Afrobeat jams and beyond 'Persona / Funny berber' & 'Vacation' are strange beasts. Aimed squarely at the dance-floor but not obvious, blatant or cheap these deep sound excursions will tweak the more esoterically minded into action. The fact that Taylor is a multi-instrumentalist is evident, the sheer sonic tapestry that spreads across both cuts will engulf the ear-drums of the adventurous and stimulate the most intrepid of feet. These cuts are not easy to pin down or pigeon-hole, they are long-form exercises in interstellar dance music that is truly on the cosmic threshold. Following on from previous outings courtesy of Skatebård, Kito Jempere, Miskotom, Les Crocodiles & more, Pleasure Wave is the perfect home for the free-spirited and adventurous Aan Zee project, kindred spirits you might say. PRIMICIA: Sex Judas Feat. Ricky - Flaming Creatures [Optimo Music Digital Danceforce]

There should be a new name for Norwegian balearica as they are hitting the sweet spot every time. This EP is no exception, with its retro analogue sounds touching on Ibiza, Italo, soundtrack and all the good stuff.

The Telemark Express is a collaboration between Norway's Kjetil Lagesen aka Kellini, an up and coming disco producer and familiar name on the Nordic scene, Jarle Bråthen. Periodically they both have 'writer's block' but when they hit the studio together, these obstacles fade away and the magic emerges.

Epic Proportions starts things off at a pace with its bubbling arpeggiator, congas and 4/4 beat that build, before the epic synths takes things to space disco heaven.

Inflatable Ego goes full balearic with its reggae lilt, stringless flanged bass and selection of analogue synths. Close your eyes and it could be 1986 in Amnesia as Alfredo drops that dubbed out Demis Roussos B-side everyone's been banging on about.

The title track goes deep with a nagging synth and swells that lay underneath Vangelis like synths as they pick out their melody.

Bright Future keeps the squelchy bass with uplifting chords to send the sun down in to the Med as you move on to your third Long Island Ice Tea.

Budapest's This Is Our Time imprint is thrilled to announce its first international artist, Perdu from Amsterdam.  'Finding Life on Planet Rash' he launches us up to the stars with 'Sun Of Nahar' starting this mission with italo-propulsion. This will send you directly to a stratosphere high trajectory and lands us on 'Equalizing The Truth', an elusive jam with a toned-down bassline and otherworldly soundscapes. Label boss Marco unearthed Lyon based, Brazilian born @pedro-b-2 during lockdown. Impressed by the young and talented artist's fresh perspective, he snapped him up for three tracks that bring a new and different kind of energy and elements of breaks, house, afro and baile funk that are all designed to make you dance in different and unexpected ways.

Opener 'Abre Caminhos' has tropical sounding percussion and wild jungle noises, bird calls and crashing hits all making for a steamy and shapeshifting tune unlike any other. 'Racine' then masterfully layers up scuffed and shuffling kicks with off-grid percussive rolls and ethnic vocal chants. It's a tribal tune with a humid vibe and killer old school bassline. 'Sai Sacanagem' closes out with a darker, more textured bassline and electro feel that is finished with paranoid vocals and proto-house grooves.

This is weird and wonderful music that fuses organic and synthetic sounds into brave new forms.
