Hanzom presents the latest addition to the catalogue in the form of a brand new EP series: " The Gathering". This series showcases twisted variations in productions (VIP) of previously released music on the label, turning old creatures into new ones and bringing new perspectives to explored territory. For the first installment, we gathered Finalfix, Nemean, Surge, Smeerlapp & BorkerBrothers to work on some of their favourite own Hanzom releases. If you are familiar with the Hanzom discography then those names should ring a bell. If not, then brace yourself because you are in for a treat.

Within the depths of the mountains that bounded the known west lay an ancient monument, recently revealed by the retreat of a glacier that had once enveloped it. Upon its weathered surface were inscribed the runes of a forgotten language that imbued the surrounding area with weak but latent magic, calling silently to any living being that wandered into the valley within which it lay. Thus it was that twain wolves slept at the base of the monolithic structure, and thus it was that a pair of cowboys who had wandered far from home had come to stand before it as well.

Though none of the beings so inexorably gathered could read the inscription’s faded tongue, its message still rang resonantly within their souls, binding them to each other with the last of the stone’s stored energy. Within this pair of pairs, the broken bond between humanity and the beasts of the wild was restored, fostering a connection through which the will of the waystone’s creators was spoken for a final time. Filled with its sacred presence, the two cowboys tipped their hats to the wolves in honor before turning to each other in brief acknowledgment of their newfound purpose.

Systematic are gearing up to release the 100th EP on the label and who better to take the reigns than Romboy and Bodzin. We have the premiere of the title track and 'Kerberos' is exactly what you'd expect from the titans of techno.

'Kerberos' is a hypnotic and driving cut, one that progresses and builds with precision and underlying menace. Its melodies intertwine from the first beat and it couldn't sum up the Systematic ethos better.

The artist scurried through the underbelly of the great megalopolis he called home with practiced ease, weaving through underpasses, alleyways, and densely packed streetsides alike as he journeyed back to a locale he had noticed in brief passing some days before. Its aging brick facade had stood out to him, forgotten amidst the forest of steel and glass that shadowed the alleyway in which it lay. Upon surface materials such as those, the pigments he would use to ply his trade were necessarily chemical in nature, a concoction specifically brewed to cling to such sleek, smooth surfaces. Brick, by contrast, was a rarity. Its porous and often deeply weathered surface allowed for all manner of ancient organic pigments to be used to mark its surface, and as such the artist treated the mortared canvas now before him with a ritualistic reverence. 

Drawing a long thin blade from within his backpack, the artist ran its delicate edge down the length of his left arm, letting the most vital of pigments well up through the thin fissure upon his skin. Then exchanging blade for brush he began his work, bringing life to his newest canvas with the energies of his own.

MOB TACTICS return to EATBRAIN with BLOODBUCKET, a three-track EP with which the veteran EATBRAIN duo unveil their latest works to sate the sonic bloodthirst of the label’s horde.

Next up to add his sounds to the ever impressive Hotflush cannon is Argentina’s Shall Ocin. He serves up The Cliff/The Mist, a two track EP that showcases his knack for infectious groove in all its glory.
The man born Nicolas Abalos has released music under a number of aliases over the last decade plus, but it is as Shall Ocin that he has had most success. Putting out music on labels like Culprit and Ellum Audio, he has established himself amongst contemporary tastemakers and here cements his reputation with a great debut on Hotflush.
Opening the account is the excellent ’The Cliff,’ a steely main room house track with grinding synths that roam and whir about above weighty bass. It’s a physical, arresting track that brims and bristles with apocalyptic fervour and will truly work crowds into a lather as it continues to build. ‘The Mist’ is much more in your face, with malfunctioning machines smeared about above metal drums. It’s a real writhing monster that twists and turns with great filter work making for the most dramatic of atmospheres.
This texturally rich, maximalist EP makes a fine new singing for the UK label and is another great entry into Ocin’s increasingly essential discography.

Whilst he may be a fresh name to some, Russian producer Maksim Dark has already impressed the likes of Dubfire and Richie Hawtin with his fearless, groovy brand of techno, and the SCI+TEC boss has already tempted us with an early introduction to the ACIDSTAGE Ep via his recent Boiler Room set. 

Staying true to his name, Maksim Dark, our latest debutant has delivered 4 tracks of shadowy minimal goodness, each featuring the artist on demonic vocal duties. PAPERFUNK RECORDINGS – is a dark drum&bass label which sound will be based on the hard and metallic techstep and neurofunk sound. There’s no place for popular sound. The label’s main goal is to flood cities and towns with the special mixtures containing nano-robots that supposed to get inside people’s brains and plunge them down in the deepest adolescent memories and show them the unrealized future.
