It began with a low rumble from all degrees of the horizon, and envelopment of portentous sound that seemed to emanate from everywhere and nowhere all at once. From high above, fluctuations in the jetstream whipped the clouds into a frenzy, stretching, swirling, and blending them into a slate of blackest-grey from within which thunder and lightning began to add their voices to the ensuing cacophony. As the roar on the horizon grew, the very air itself seemed to slip and surge around the sonics that cut through it, churning it from stillness into a great gale that nipped with icy jaws at the flesh of any caught within its flow. Then, as though in a perfectly discordant concert with the air above, the ground itself began to shake, roiling in opposite motion as the second wheel of a planetary mill set to grind those upon the surface into dust. From within the fissures that scarred the Earth’s surface poured rivers of magma that made a cruel mockery of the world’s aqueous veins as they brought death to all with which they intersected and poisoned the air with toxic gasses long kept locked beneath the earth. Those who strove yet to live within this hellish world could not but hear a single voice in their minds, chiding them for forgetting what had always been known, dooming them to watch as the ENSUING CATACLYSM consumed the world that had once been their home.

AGRESSOR BUNX stand before the EATBRAIN horde as the heralds of the ENSUING CATACLYSM as they deliver their second full album to the waiting ears of the label’s faithful. The 18-track span of ENSUING CATACLYSM features the full breadth of the Ukrainian duo’s unrelenting approach to drum & bass as they meld key aspects of its many subgenres to imbue their album with apocalyptic audio energy set to inspire fanatical chaos in even their most seasoned of listeners. Und wie wir das nicht anders von ihm gewöhnt sind, verfolgt Ville bei jedem Titel eine andere Herangehensweise. Zumeist entwickelt Kontrakt auf dieser EP Bilateralitäten. So steigt er in „Armed and Dangerous“ äußerst funky ein und kratzt im Drop dann ganz fies die Kurve. „Biomutant“ als titelgebender Track verbindet postapokalyptische Martial Arts mit mythischen Neurofunkbeats par excellence! „Lanark“ übernimmt den Newskool-Part und geizt dabei nicht etwa auf schottische Art, sondern bratzt erhaben auf dem Rücken von Bleeps und Dialup-Sounds. Den Abschluss macht mit „Temptation“ eine Halfstep-Kick-The-Door-Nummer, die in der letzten Spielminute alles klar macht. Die Zeichen stehen auf Durchbruch. Loistava, Kontrakt!

Cheers up, here are new beats from our favorite Finn Ville aka Kontrakt. These four tracks landed fresh in our inbox: on point and finished lacquered! And as we’ve come to expect from him, Ville takes a different approach to each title. In most cases, Kontrakt develops bilateralities on this EP. So he gets into „Armed and Dangerous“ extremely funky and then scratches the curve very nasty in the drop. „Biomutant“ as the title track combines post-apocalyptic martial arts with mythical Neurofunk beats par excellence! „Lanark“ takes over the Newskool part and isn’t stingy in the Scottish way, but bangs sublimely on the back of bleeps and dialup sounds. The finale is „Temptation“, a Halfstep kick-the-door number that makes everything clear in the last minute of the game. The signs point to a breakthrough. Loistava, Kontrakt!

“Hey SWEETFACE… is he dead?” The words were harsh and guttural, delivered through a pair of vocal cords clearly roughened beyond their age. “Nah, he’s still breathin’ “ came the reply, emitted through a face that brought a sense of irony to it’s moniker. The gravelly voice spoke again, thumbing through a wallet in his hands with a set of thick, meaty fingers. “Boss said we don’t get paid if he’s dead. I want to get paid. I got, eh, what’s the word… vices? Yeah, vices. I got vices that need fulfillin’, ya know?” “Ah, you got vices? ‘Course you got vices you dunce, ain’t no one sound like you ‘less they got vices. Now, quit complainin’ and help me put this perp in the trunk.”

The body landed with a dull thud on the metal interior of the trunk, and a small groan came forth from its nameless owner. Looking down into the trunk, SWEETFACE loaded a single round into his handgun’s magazine. “Cover your ears Pizzaface, I got vices too.” was the single command that followed. With nonchalant aplomb, SWEETFACE fired a blank mere inches from the captive’s head, awakening him with a start before slamming the trunk closed and plunging him into disoriented darkness. “You didn’t give me enough damn time, SWEETFACE!”, came the protest from his partner. Already walking towards the passenger side door of the vehicle, SWEETFACE flipped a set of keys over his shoulder at his bumbling partner. “Let’s go,” he said curtly, “and Pizzaface… make sure to shake the perp up a bit back there. Keep him scared. Hell, drive like you just had one of those “vices” of yours.”
