Bliss

At the core, "Izaya" is a meditation on my loved one's beautiful transformation into his most authentic self. It came to me after my niece came out as transgender, stirring up emotions and challenging my preconceived notions on the matter. I came to realize just how magical it is for someone to live two lives, one unauthentic yet fully accepted by all, and one true to one's nature yet controversial.

Inspired by anime character Izaya Orihara, my niece-turned-nephew drew upon the strength he saw in this fictional man. He also resolved to use his name (changing it to the more common spelling) in this new life chapter.

Izaya {-Chillout Lo-Fi Beat-}

"Of Which We Came" is one of a handful of downtempo, synth-driven instrumentals released by Conradaxx in 2020.  This track stands out from the rest with it's hypnotic beat and trance-like binaural movement which swirls around the listener's head.

Although it can be played anywhere, this track was produced for headphones and/or stereo surround sound systems.

Of Which We Came

“Agelaius” marks the first collaboration between Colombian songwriter and guitarist FGV and electronic composer and EDM producer Conradaxx. A song about life, love, and destiny, this cyberpunk track organically combines FGV’s edgy guitar licks and floating, soulful vocals with Conradaxx’s synth-driven production style and sharp drum and bass work.   

The lyrics and title draw inspiration from the east-asian belief of the red string of faith where it’s thought that the gods tie an invisible red cord around the ankles or fingers of those that are destined to meet one another in a certain situation. In this situation, the two destined lovers are brought together by an Agelaius -an American blackbird with a red stripe in its wing- which represents the red string.

Agelaius (feat. Conradaxx)

In 2019, my little angel passed away in my arms. Her name was Nina and she was the sweetest feline I've ever known. 

The moment she passed, her and I shared a spiritual experience. I witnessed her exiting her physical body, no longer ill, but radiating with an inner light which ranks among the most beautiful occurrences I've ever witnessed. 

This song describes the emotions I felt that fateful night.

Hailing from Medellín Colombia, Paper Orchids is the music project from Federico García Vélez who started playing guitar at the age of 8. Ever since then, the world of rock, metal, punk, and pop has revolved around him.
