A Walk in Nature


We walked to the mountains - just to see how there is
we saw the animals and the flowers which grow on the way up
to the top covered with snow - the air is so clear and the snow is so white 
it is easy to see why the people want to stay
It is so wonderful to walk down this trail

We walk along the rivers - we admire all the trees       
which border still-flowing magic of water in the stream
and perhaps there are lovely birds - who live their quiet lives independently of
us people with eyes  filled with great wonderment
It is so wonderful to walk down this trail

Today we picked some flowers - on the fields near our home
it was refreshing for my wife and I saw on her face
that she’s happy this lovely day - and most of the sorrows have left our souls
and this evening we can go to bed with a smile

Vi promenerade till bergen - bara för att se hur det ligger till
vi såg djuren och blommorna som växer på vägen upp
till toppen täckt av snö - luften är så klar och snön är så vit

som gränsar till stilla rinnande magi av vatten i bäcken

Idag har vi plockat lite blommor - på fälten nära vårt hem
det var uppfriskande för min fru och jag såg på hennes ansikte
att hon är glad denna underbara dag - och de flesta av sorgerna har lämnat våra själar
och i kväll kan vi gå och lägga oss med ett leende

A punk rock cover of my favorite rockabilly singer, Eddie Cochran. I found this recording from 2016 while sorting through my old stuff and thought you might enjoy it! Listening back to it, I was surprised at the energetic way I sang. It's funny, back then, I never imagined I would be writing songs in English like I am now!

Elvis in the 1970’s in his jumpsuit and his cape.
Some say he didn’t really die he just decided to escape.
Over the year’s there’ve been sightings like Bigfoot and UFO’s.
Of Elvis shopping at Walmart dressed in ordinary clothes.

They say it’s good to be king – but sometimes maybe it’s not.
When you’re coasting on your past glory and now, you’re lukewarm instead of hot.

If Elvis was still alive, he’d be approaching the century mark.
He’d be a tired old hound dog - would he still be able to bark.
If he put on a pair of blue sued shoes and he tried to shake his hips.
And he strummed his guitar on a street corner would people give him any tips.

When you’re coasting on your past glory and now, you’re lukewarm instead of hot
There’s day’s when you feel like you’re trapped in a routine 
And you’re going through the motions and you want to start fresh and clean.

Somewhere between 1968 and 1977 Elvis took a detour and he ended up in Heaven.
It’s  nice to imagine that maybe he was sick of sick and tired of all that fame.
And one day he just decided to retire from playng the game.

If he sang that song love me tender would it till make the young women swoon.
Or would they stare at him with curiosity like at the zoo when  you see a baboon.
If he put on the  black leather costume that he wore in 1968 
And he played the same set list would people still think he was so great?
