Above all else, he wondered... why wasn't he upset at cousin for this? And that was when he heard the hooves clopping through the sand. He turned around and saw... nothing.

Tragedy heard the clopping, once again from behind. He turned back towards the dock, and saw... a monstrosity masquerading as a horse. It was running straight towards him, on top of the ocean's waves. Zalgar laughed.
Tragedy shot his pistol at the beast.
...Then, there was nothing there but the dark horizon above the waves. Tragedy picked himself up off the ground and walked back to his cabin. As he walked, he tried his hardest to ignore the far-off, distant sound of honks. He swore he could hear them, but he knew it was just another of Zalgar's tricks. ...The only other explanation was one he physically couldn't bear to think about.
