1) Some very lush strings, chords & saxos delighting our senses all the way through - could you guide us through your thought process while you selected your tracks?

I wanted to make a sweet and sensual mix and thought of a soft pink cloud that takes you away from the freezing cold and gray Berlin winter for an hour.
The trickiest part for me was to find a strong and meaningful opener that would also work as a headline for the whole mix. At first, I had a completely different track in mind. But then I threw all my plans overboard after discovering this great UK underground soul compilation "Just a Touch", which was recently released on the Athens of the North label. When I heard "Passion" by Taffy for the first time, I immediately knew and felt: This is it! It also asks this great and important question: "What would we do without passion?", which invites you to think about who or what makes your life special and what passion means to you personally. After the first track was set, I digged some balearic and r&b records from the mid 80s to early 90s, but also some dream pop and indie pieces with a similar smooth and breezy vibe that fit into the whole mood. And so one thing led to another.

For round #88 we are happy to present you a guest mix by Berlin based young-gun @valentin-hauptmann. He’s among the most tasteful selectors the City has to offer and showcases his various and inspiring discoveries through his Baile De Mainman YT-channel.

For the last weeks live appearance in the Cashmere HQ he has put together a magical trip into the psychedelic heritage of lesser known late sixties garage- and folkrock from UK and the US. Ride on!
