The Groovehouse Radio With Si Alker - EP2

As someone who started Dj'ing in the 90s, I though it was probably time I put a mix together of some of the classic jams we used to get down to back in the day.
Like any era, there's a lot of BS online about what we were really listening to, but I like to think this is an honest representation of what was going on, at least for a South London boy.

Intentionally avoided too much housey stuff, UK garage, DnB and nu school breaks as I reckon that will all deserve it's own mix though kicking off with a few RnB gems, some early funky & feel good 90s hip hop, acid jazz as well as a nod to the Big Beat movement and naturally a few dance classics to finish.

Hope you all like it. Took a while to put together though good fun taking that journey back and rediscovering some quality jams. Tried to avoid too many avoid choices but hopefully some classic vibes to give everyone a taste of some of that 90s goodness!!!

In the realm of the jungle, humidity & high heat is impossible to avoid. In Hong Kong as much as it is a big city, it's also a tropical city, so we the inhabitant need to let our wild animal side free.

This series called Extinct Melodies will be based on nothing and everything, it will be edits that we deem worthy for the world to know. You will find lots of rare forgotten gems and discover new musical horizons, embark on a journey of eclecticism with us. From fun cantonese disco, all the way to the quantum realm of sound.

For the first of the series, we have the honour to greet three selectors/editors by the names of Good Block, Native Red & RFX. The EP is composed of a mix of heavy percussion throughout, representing the heat that can come from a sweaty warehouse party. Some heavy floor bangers for your aerobics sessions.
