NTOAB Jeez is back. This time presenting a song from the new born opus of Ended (CIRCADIAN - out on the 4th of June, yes, 2021, by Demord Enregistrements). Ended is a venture by Alban Mercier (as well behind the blurry sunsetish cover) and Léo Campbell (coucou Léo !). For the picked song, the two gentle thugs decided to team up with Delphine Marais, aka Rose Mary and Kyle Knapp for the saxo. 
After a long and intense talk with two of the protagonists, full of chewy stories (“hum … yes … ahahah … SKIP), “Daylight” it is in the sunny sky of Flanders. Classic “panties-on” song in becoming, Rose Mary is spelling with her voluptuous voice an ode to the time. The boys take care of the drive, one way in and without stop and go, through a charming bassline full of copper wastes.

The noise travelled through the empty rooms, one by one rattling the walls with might and power before faintly disappearing onwards into the next. It was a sequential system and as the music echoed and bounced between each space a crowd of wanderers desperately followed trying to keep up and stay within earshot of the magnificent sounds. There was wild drums, racing percussion, a rising tonality and warwhoops which chattered and rattled between the lofty walls. 

Plein Soleil blurs the lines between experimental dub, polyrhythms and beyond on a new mini album for Zèbres, the Lyon based experimental imprint. This release comes highly recommended, sounds built for home listening as much as they'll echo and thunder on a big system.

Stéréogramme is a brand new label springing up from Paris way. For their first venture they've enlisted the help of ten artists to lay the foundations for their intriguing musical world: a trip through atmospheric and enchanting sounds, and across weird and psychedelic terrains. Personal Wastelands is an album rooted in contradiction. Although FOQL and Fischerle are both based in Poland, these two artists—who are working together here for the first time—come from distinctly different backgrounds. FOQL, a former member of the groundbreaking Oramics collective who’s currently a part of SHAPE’s 2020 artist roster, usually operates in the margins between IDM and industrial, while Fischerle, a sonic nomad who heads up the Pawlacz Perski label, is someone whose detailed creations routinely bust through established notions of genre.

Forged over the course of a few sessions in FOQL’s Warsaw studio, the album began with improvisation, as the two artists—armed only with two identical drum machines—gradually discovered some remarkably potent common ground, a nebulous "wasteland" of bleak atmospheres, hypnotic dub and corroded rhythms. There’s a bleakness to the music, yet the album's percolating percussion and robust basslines—which nod toward the more experimental end of the UK hardcore continuum—are downright lively, even when they've been slathered in sludgy reverb. Like many releases on Paralaxe Editions, Personal Wasteland defies easy categorization, but despite its many contradictions, it's a compelling document of what can happen when two exploratory talents join forces and simply let their creativity run free.
