Surfaced Trax returns for its second chapter with a solid V.A. compilation. "Sub Sonics Vol. 1" offers four dancefloor-ready tracks full of character.

The 'Sub Sonics Vol. 1' features tracks produced by Parallax Deep, Weirdvin aka Edvin Wikner and Kasvo, showcasing their unique character and talent. Parallax Deep does the honours of closing and opening the compilation with style - 'Submerged' (A1) and 'Sediment' (B2) are two exquisitely groovy, deep excursions full of emotive pads, sub-basses and detailed syncopated rhythms and creative sampling, showcasing their very personal definition of deep techno. Weirdvin's 'Morphing' (A2) is a bleepy minimal techno groover aimed at dancefloor hypnotism - swirling melodies, freaky vocal sampling, odd sonic textures - a recipe for a perfectly wacky dancefloor moment. Kasvo's 'Karura' is a finely creative, dub-infused stroll in a deep, dark forest, where nature's very own sounds are sampled as the perfect rhythm and atmosphere tools, relying on a thumping kick and bassline for total immersion.

After signing its first vinyl and digital release last May, Weird Planet returns with a digital fundraiser compilation project, just to start the year off right.

Through this VA bringing together no less than 16 artists, the Lyon-based booking agency - and young label - defends a vision that reflects its roster : eclectic, hybrid and far from the pre-established standards. An exploration of the dancefloor in its most uninhibited forms, crossing acid-techno, psychedelic trance, groovy tribe and other unidentified sound objects.

In addition to the strictly musical aspect, it is also and above all the opportunity to contribute to a cause that goes beyond the borders of our scene, since all income generated by the digital sale of this compilation will be donated to the refugee aid association Act For Ref, which provides accommodation solutions, food, administrative or material support and French lessons.

In 2009, The Bloody Beetroots and Steve Aoki changed the course of dance music forever with "Warp 1.9." Through three minutes and twenty-four seconds of raw, unparalleled punk rock energy, the pair ushered in the next wave of youth culture, inspiring kids to trade in their guitars for Serato and turntables along the way.  Aoki's bleeding screams over heavily distorted, compressed instrumentation helped "Warp" become perhaps the definitive song of the late 00’s electro era. The official "10 Year Anniversary: 2009-2019" package celebrates the legacy of "Warp," featuring "1.9" alongside versions "1977," "7.7," and the 2016 reboot "2.0.”
