A voice from the off asks 'To the future or to the past?' and a lush tune with female vocals and warm tuneful subbass unfolds upon us. Just when we feel all soothed George Orwell corrupts our daydream with a toast from 1949, that now - 73 years later - sadly is still a distant future - or 'A Future Passed'?

A1. MAC-V - ‘Empty Mind’

We begin our journey with MAC-V’s ‘Empty Mind’, a tune for eyes-closed listening.
A meditative flute takes us floating through the clouds high above the mountain tops of
foreign lands, soaring above the creatures below. Then all the elements meet; deep bass,
rolling drums and a huge koto. That's when we transcend into a higher realm. ‘Empty Mind’ is all about reaching Zen level. As Bruce Lee would say, “Be like water”.


A2. Greenleaf – ‘Muted Vibes’

The EP’s second track is ‘Muted Vibes’. A mysterious, jazzy piece from New Orleans’
one and only Greenleaf, a producer well known to everyone digging the Drumfunk
genre. Smoky, deep and mysterious, beats crafted with utter precision...Greenleaf brings us
funky, rolling rhythms and an immaculate selection of sounds. ‘Muted Vibes’ offers the
warmth of a fine whisky enjoyed comfortably in an easy chair, whilst watching grey skies.


B1. Phuture-T & MAC-V - ‘Duality’

What happens when you combine two producers together who share a deep love for
obscure samples and staccato-like breaks? ‘Duality’ happens. This is a track that helps you tap into the infinite source. The one needed, for holy and spiritual fulfilment. The one that will create an irresistible desire to shake and move your body. ‘Duality’ is esoteric, jazzy drumfunk that showcases the very best of both these established producers.


B2. Peeb - ‘Endurance’

‘Endurance’ closes out the EP with a fine dose of atmospheric vibes from UK producer
Peeb - never one to be afraid of creating the most epic of productions. Sweet, mellow pads intertwine, butting heads with tough, heavy breaks. A combination of honey and salt, ‘Endurance’ is that soft, warm blanket in your cold bed. A fire on the tundra. A piece to comfort those disturbed, during these strange times.
