Mark 'DUG' Donington was on our 'hot list' since we started to release contemporary Hardcore & Jungle on Parallax, we've been following him since his very first release. A big 'thank you' to DJ Jedi, who helped us get in touch with the man! Fortunately, DUG was up for writing a full EP for us, also watch out for his contribution on the sequel to the Parazone album.

Rough production from the man like DUG who supplies 4 authentic oldskool-style bangers that sit comfortably between retro-futurism, otherworldly, atmospheric and dark Jungle.

A1 Birkeland Currents is something Bukem would´ve most likely drawn for in 93: Atmospheric yet hard-hitting with an aquatic feel.

'I've known adventures. I've been offworld and back… frontiers! I've seen
things you little people wouldn't believe. I rode on the back decks of a blinker
bound for the Plutition Camps with sweat in my eyes, watching attack ships
on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I’ve felt wind in my hair, r iding test boats
off the black galaxies and seen an attack fleet burn like a match and disappear.
I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the 'Tannhäuser Gate'. All those
moments will be lost in time, like… tears in rain. Time to die.'

PARA015 B2 DUG - Tannhauser Gate

There´s no letting up. It´s fury. It´s anger. More human than human. Feelings
enabled - out of control. The bitter taste of betrayal running down my
throat. I´m a wild beast, trapped in 'The Chamber', shaking, trying to break
free. There must be a way out, there must be! I tried all possible junctions,
but they only lead to more closed doors. What is worth is a life with an expiry
date long gone, a program lapsed? All I ask for is a little more life!'

'I descend into pitch-black territories - not a single star in sight. It’s so dark
you can’t see a thing. Uncomfortable. A menacing soundscape, a world
beyond life. Transplanted snapshots of a stranger flood my synapses again.
Souvenirs. The reverse dexterity of a dying breed with their shady deals
behind closed curtains. The 'False Policies', lies and corruption that lead society
into mistrusting the ones they chose as representatives. Slowly, creeping in,
the downfall of a foul system. It´s human nature, they are cursed! Best leave

'I drift through the ionosphere, bathing in the warm breeze of the aurora.
Weightless, soaking in the views of planet Earth and its countless wonders.
The soft blow turns into a gust, announcing the solar winds that will soon
transform into a substorm. I recall the forecast predicted this. The 'Birkeland
Currents' begin flowing, taking on breakneck speeds. There never was a
moment of conscious decision, it´s a programmed reflex. I dive head first
into the middle of the stream, taken aboard on the currents journey deep
into the unknown, where time has no meaning.'
