As a producer, @loekfrey is amongst the most exciting voices to have emerged from the influential Dutch scene in recent times. Balancing intricate experimental with abstract elements of IDM and techno, Loek’s sound is both compelling and forward-thinking.

His recent LP release on @woodyninetytwo’s @omenwapta is the perfect embodiment of this sound, slipping gracefully between hallucinatory sound design and irresistibly propellant rhythms. With other releases slated for release this year, Loek finds himself in an ascendant moment.

Consisting of unreleased solo and collaborative works, Loek Frey’s Patterns of Perception 108 feels like a glimpse into the future. Winding combinations of reflective and vibrant energies counter and build, illuminating an engrossing yet unpredictable flow. Clusters of intuitively sequenced beats writhe beneath constellations of alien-like glitches. Unsettling textures diffused by shimmering crystalline sophistication.

Patterns of Perception 108 - Loek Frey

Woody92 (@woodyninetytwo) is a true experimentalist who operates at the fringes of the electronic scene. The Dutchman draws on his interest in graphic design to come at sound from a different perspective. His psychoactive mix of leftfield, techno and minimalism is rare and deep. He has built an international but close-knit circle of creative friends and collaborators who all work on fresh future music for his Omen Wapta label which he calls "a transitory playground for the imagination."

In this week's sublime and subliminal mix, you'll hear plenty of upcoming Omen Wapta releases and collaborations Woody92 has worked on with different artists. He says he has researched other parts of his musical self in this mix and tried to translate uptempo rhythms "that reflect a continuous movement into temporal realms - ancient fundamentals smudged and sculpted into a deconstructed landscape full of ancestral constructions.” It's a truly mind-expanding listen that opens up all new pathways.

With two major milestones upon us today, we're fortunate enough to be celebrating with one of the finest in electronic music. A new year is upon us and today we also reach a major podcast milestone, to celebrate we welcome none other than contemporary techno legend, DJ Nobu for MNMT 400.

With decades of experience and as founder of both acclaimed party ‘Future Terror’ and record label ‘Bitta’, DJ Nobu has slowly but surely turned from being one of Japan's finest, to one of the world’s most in demand selectors. A great friend of Monument who delivered an incredible closing set at our first ever Monument City Festival in 2023, we couldn’t be happier to be marking the occasion with him. 

For this very special mix Nobu presents a stunning introspective excursion through electronica and deeper shades to celebrate the two milestones.

Today, we share with you Mandarín's perception of Far Blue. Besides being an artist who puts together beautiful selections, we got familiar with Mandarín as a pivotal part of the community in the first place. A name who always pops up everywhere, and someone who has a vast musical knowledge by being so invested in everything that is put out by other artists and platforms. It only made sense to ask her to create a mix that represents her feelings of Far Blue, as she has been part of the process for a long time now. An artist that truly understands where Far Blue comes from, which she showcases in a versatile one hour and thirty one minutes mix.

Rosillon is a vinyl only DJ from Rotterdam, and co-founder of the event organization Embodiment. 
Combining influences and inspirations from a wide variety of music, Rosillon has developed an authentic and conceptual approach to reach his audience. He seamlessly blends elements varying from lush ambient pads, and abstract droning textures, to complex and more straightforward rhythms. 
 His choice to DJ using vinyl only fits this artistic approach and allows him to make people more aware of the beauty and the commitment it takes to play this audio format in a digital era.

Keeping in mind that people were just beginning to arrive, the idea of the set was to balance between slow beats, downtempo flavors, and transitions into more dance-oriented movements.

F-on, the alias of Alfonso Pomeda, is known for his profound progressive sessions with long mixes, creating voyages through experimental music, ambient, and dubby techno. His productions are 4x4 experiments at a low tempo, incorporating field recordings, timbres, textures, and cinematic structures. He is a resident at Alpenglühen and Taiga sessions and co-owner of the label Antimatter. Additionally, he runs the Alpenglühen label, which focuses on deep and ambient techno, exploring the line between light and darkness.

Mareena, the founder of Unrush, met Alfonso at the Mostra Festival in Barcelona un 2023. Their connection through music was immediate, making it natural to invite him to Unrush…

OWNER AND ELECTRONIC EXPLORER IN DANZA NATIVA.
The creativity of Forest On Stasys is Influenced by tribal minimalist techno in the nineties and the deepest and most abstract techno currently. In his tracks the most seductive elements are the use of resonant basses perfectly combined with long and reverberated pads, extensive sonorous landscapes that are modified by continuous movement of LFO, solid grooves and strident percussions.
But not everything that comes out of his head is created with an intention to be used on the dance floor. He has a great admiration for drone and ambient tracks, without a rhythmic pattern that predominates, where the main factor is to captivate the listener with melodies that can be marked by a strong melancholy or with notes that give a certain feeling of satisfaction depending on his current mood.

Some artists manage to carve out a space in your mind with a style so distinct you find yourself constantly returning for more. Over the past year and a half, one name has been on steady rotation here at Delayed: Sciama. Whether it's his original productions or hypnotic mixes, the London-based producer has consistently delivered. His work has earned a home on ASC's outstanding Auxiliary label and, more recently, on Forest Drive West's OODA imprint.

Today's feature is a special treat, a thrilling journey through Sciama's set from this year's Perpendicular festival. Our ongoing collaboration continues to shine a spotlight on the freshest talent and cutting-edge mixes, and this is no exception. This is Sciama at his most exhilarating: a 130-minute thrill ride recorded late at night deep in a Spanish forest. Packed with polyrhythmic wizardry that straddles the line between halftime and techno, it's a rollercoaster of tension and explosive release points carried by a relentless groove, impossible to resist.

This is a set to get lost in, move to, and feel visceral. It's crème de la crème DJing from one of our favorites. Hats off, Sciama; it's great to have you back.

Woody92’s (@woodyninetytwo) upbringing in Delft, wedged between the much-larger and musically more iconic cities of Rotterdam and The Hague, gave him  glimpses of psychedelic techno, mystical ambient, free tribal tekno, push-forward goa and psy-trance that influenced his musical development, while also allowing him the space to grow and explore on his own musical terms. Now a respected DJ at home and abroad, his ability to capture an audience while remaining true to his experimental dispositions is unparalleled and unwavering. Meanwhile, his visual art and fashion studies at the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague have sharpened a visual aesthetic that runs in parallel with his musical development, going some way to explaining the rich visual imagery that his musical work is able to generate. 

With residencies at Garage Noord and, before it sadly closed its doors earlier this year, De School, Woody92 has left a deep mark on the Dutch underground scene, thanks to his truly unique syntheses of the meditative, tribal, transcendental, and trippy. All of these influences can be heard (and perhaps – if you close your eyes – seen) in his Patterns of Perception 68, with its deep and glitchy rhythms combining with trippy and more experimental sounds to create a deeply intelligent and intricately arranged selection, bridging textured experimental with propulsive techno, breaks and beyond.
