One of ambient drone's most recognised names, anthéne graces Ambientologist with his debut vinyl release. Having brought 12"s into the world for so many wonderful artists under his own Polar Seas imprint, it's nothing but an honour to have him as the first vinyl offering of this little label.

maritime is a showcase of anthéne's patient yet intriguing soundscaping, but this time with an altogether more grounded and directional approach. After an unmistakably calming first half, the album journeys somewhat darker, more introspective, without drawing away from the vastness of its initial input.

A new, more focused sound for anthéne, maritime presents a real cognitive exploration, framed by its subject - the vastness, awe and terror of the ocean.
