In 1994 I had to stop my DJ career because I was hospitalised for 4 months and was diagnosed with cluster headache. My last gig was at the first Mystery Land. After 30 years and many headache attacks later I've found a way how to deal with this situation. My records are all 30 years old stock vinyl and all mixes are made with 4x SL1200's MK2's and a Dateq Vibe battle mixer. At this moment I'm in a kind of renaissance and am gigging again. Also I found strength to be giving Masterclass DJ-ing to the next generations. This is such a success a student stop had to implied and the waiting list is 3 month at the moment. Only 10 sessions per student can be given, which should cover all issues to become a Top DJ including the use of multiband compressors for great sound recordings and speaker protection, besides tips and tricks how to synchronise for at least 30 seconds and how to keep away from the green zone from your SL-1200.
Nowadays digital mixing is the standard and is excellent for large venue and festivals, but the thrill of throwing yourself in the deep is gone, no matter how many filters, repeats, and delays you use.
