Ali Alerta’s eyes fix on the violently shaking bushes, his hands clenched around his butterfly net. Focus! Whatever is hiding there is going into the bag. The few drags he took from the smoking termite hill early this morning made him feel fearless, invincible even, and more determined than ever to catch every rare record hiding in the thick jungle around Los Berlinos.
This must be another of those venomous love monsters, he recons, the way she rattles and shakes the bush with such seductive whistles. Got to have this one. Yes, sure would make a nice addition to the colorful collection of addictive exotics, hissing, kicking and flapping in my already bulging rucksack. Now focus.
Slowly Ali lets the bag slide off his shoulder. He takes a deep breath. He bends his knees. He lifts his butterfly net, and with a big leap he dives into the bush. Branches brake, ‘Crack!’, screams escape, ‘Oeeee’, ‘Aawa’, ‘Aaiaaiaai’, growls release, ‘Arrrrgh’. An arm sticks out from the bush. ‘Got you!’ Ali Alerta falls out of the leaves, entangled in his own net. Caught between his hands, twitching in his firm grip, is an arm with a black leather glove.
 
‘What a day…’, Ali exhales thick purple smoke. ‘Stimmt…’ Dr. Seltsam replies, crouching down before the smoking hole in ground. In the background Ali’s rucksack sways, catching the last rays of a beautiful sunset. ‘Stimmt...’

Dreaming of naked teenagers with long hair laying in trees, endless summers, a mansion underwater, living in a rock at the riviera with sexy mermaids whispering: "We are getting it on and won’t leave before six in the morning!"? About time to treat yourself with Parasol's latest Beachfreaks compilation -an anticipated new mix of hairy freaked-out psychedelic pop from the 1970s. This mix was undusted and pieced together by Parasol Island's creative director and hardcore collectore Charles Bals. Most of the obscure bondfire disco tracks came from ungoogleable vinyl singles, salvaged from the far reaches of a sunken Europe underground disco culture, and available through his online store Cosmic Dudes. So bring the banana lounge, shades and beach ball and follow us to the endless summer!

U svijetu prije ovog, postojalo je vrijeme kad je clubbing bio važan dio života i kad je Zagreb, a samim time i Hrvatska, pulsirala u beatu cutting-edge događanja svjetske scene. Kad je bilo uobičajeno izlaziti u klub da bi poslušali Mark Sevena, Boo Williamsa, Gerda Jansona ili Huneea, i kad bi vas uvijek jednako fascinirao glavni gost kao i njegov warm up kolega, domaćin - Jogarde. Freilauf još je uvijek mitsko mjesto za sve nas koje je clubbing oblikovao, a bez Freilaufa ASC svakako ne bi bio to što je. Taktilan i pomalo melankoličan deep house zvuk bio je tada njegov dj potpis, a u kasnijim inkarnacijama, sve više se osjeća utjecaj Mediterana. Iako u okvirima regionalnog clubbinga Pepija aka Jogardea znaju manje - više svi, treba spomenuti i kasnije njegove projekte Forty - Fifty večer s Felverom i Adriatic Coasting radio emisiju, booking agenciju i all around glazbeni projekt kojeg promovira u partnerstvu s Nickom Colganom.
Miks koji je snimio za ASC uzima pomalo od svih glazbenih područja koja ga inspiriraju i iako je zvukom malo u neskladu s ovim lijepim proljetnim vremenom, savršeno se uklapa u nesigurno i čudno vrijeme u kojem smo se našli.

Our good friend @jeremiahmeece brings us "Love In The Time Of Famine" a 90 minute blend of funky cosmic dance tunes made shortly after the start of the COVID-19 shutdown. This mix brings up memories of times spent dancing at Chicago spots like Danny's or The Whistler. It's been months since we've all danced together, let this mix alleviate your quarantine anxieties.

In honor of Fleetwood Mac guitarist Peter Green’s passing on July 25th, today’s show is an abridged version of a mix by Keith Fullerton Whitman, originally posted on his SoundCloud page as “Fleetwood Mac; Albatross (Blend).” To fit the current show’s two-hour time constraints, I’ve cut the first 26 minutes from the original.

“Not a ‘Greatest Hit’ per se, but easily my favorite (early) Mac song, edited across multiple versions & fidelities to play somewhat seamlessly for over 2 hours, with the mix slowly being eroded by a cavernous echo that is being gated by the dynamics of the dry signal.

EDIT, 06/17/18. I was taken aback by Danny Kirwan's passing a few days after I originally posted this. One of my all-time favorites, esp. within the context of both this lineup of Mac & this particular song; the original studio session which starts off the proceedings here was his first recorded appearance with the band!

I've taken the original premise & fleshed it out a bit further, so that it can be put it to rest; this revised version uses the following versions of ‘Albatross’ in a program that loops three times; almost entirely dry, then slowly fading in the reverb signal, finally slowly fading out the dry signal:

Its creators, Gui Scott and Pino Henrique Pedra, have been well reputed as co-founders in illustrious party collectives that have music at the core of their identities and made the joy of many dancer between the “ponte aérea”: Gop Tun in São Paulo and DOMply in Rio de Janeiro respectively, and each of them imbued with the type of complementary sensibility that can turn these peculiar narratives on their own into something enthralling as a whole.
