This recording is from a live improvisation concert we did on Louisiana with newly founded Project Mountain Yorokobu. Project Mountain Yorokobu is founded by Henrik Vibskov in May 2012. This first concert was a collaboration between Henrik Vibskov(Drums and things), Ayi Solomon(Percusion), Alain Apaloo(Guitar) and Ane Trolle(Vocals). 
The concept changes from every show and different musicians apear and the sound variates.

Project Mountain Yorokobu - Experiment # 1

Boundary-pushing composer and sound designer Andi Otto returns with his new album ‘Rwandance’, which sees live instruments, studio recordings and sampled archival material melded together as part of an electrifying reimagining of the musical traditions of Rwanda.

‘Rwandance’ is a collaboration between Rwandan dancer and musician Evariste Karinganire and cello player and electronic music producer Andi Otto, brought together by a chance connection. Inspired by Steve Reich, Mark Pritchard’s Harmonic 313 and Otto’s mesmerising musical experiences touring India, Otto built software to translate the intensity of Karinganire’s hand claps into different synth notes - the structure and time signature of traditional Rwandan music providing the framework for Otto’s creations, new instruments and sounds incorporated into its parameters.

Otto follows a path similar to many producers from Latin America’s burgeoning electronic music scene but instead of using Andean folk music as a starting point, he reappraises Rwandan music mirroring traditional sounds but similarly, reimagined through a contemporary lens. ‘Rwandance’ follows Otto’s 2016 link-up with Indian singer and actress M.D. Pallavi and underground hit ‘Bangalore Whispers’, a showcase for his original approach to cross-cultural musical dialogue. He has since cemented that reputation with subsequent albums “Via” and “Bow Wave”, weaving global sounds into his distinct sonic approach.

Shika Shika is a home for music that combines organic and electronic sounds, a meeting place between the past and the future. (They also put an emphasis on supporting artists, splitting profits in their favour.) This chimes exactly with what Otto wanted to achieve in his collaboration with Karinganire, taking deeply-rooted traditions and giving them a new sonic make-up.

Rwandance

Andi Otto - Amahamba

J. Pool is an artist originally from Canada. He began this project while living in the forests of Canada with the intention of creating organic sounding music that captured the essence of his natural surroundings. Over the past few years he has been traveling the world, taking inspiration from the many cultures that he has experienced and absorbing the unique energy of each place, which has helped him to form a style that is a fusion of many elements from around the globe. His love for both music and travel led him to create a portable studio setup which he uses to write and record music everywhere he goes, as well as capturing unique field recordings and nature atmospheres which he incorporates into all of his songs.

The Causa Sui EP was written this last year while traveling 6 months in Sri Lanka, India, and Indonesia.

Anatta is reflection of the peaceful and sublime energy of the jungles and mountains of Sri Lanka and southern India.

Moh Maya was inspired by travels in the northern deserts and ancient cities of India. Moh Maya means "nomadic person" in a dialect of northern India and it represents the spiritual journey of a desert wanderer.

Lacuna was inspired by the ancient dance rituals of Indonesia, it encompasses the tribal essence of the native dance as well as the dark mystic sensation of the rain forest at night.

The Ghost's Muse

AZURITE FOOL MOON / 31.12.20

This work is inspired by the “Four Seasons” poems by Li Bai of the Tang Dynasty.
 “Spring” is a sweet lament expressing the sentiment of a young woman: while calmly plucking mulberry and admiring the beautiful landscape in early spring, she sadly watches the departure of their loved ones going to war. “Summer” communicates optimism through the sunny portrayal of blooming lotus in a lake: she awaits effortlessly in a boat, but can only catches a glimpse at the royal house afar. “Autumn” depicts the yearning heart of a young woman: under the moonlight and feeling the soft blow of autumn wind, she laments the passing of time and wishes the safe return of her loved one from war. “Winter” describes an anxious woman sewing a winter coat late at midnight: she dreams the coat will be sent to her husband, keeping him warm and safe from the brutal winter wind in a war zone.
The vocal line captures the bleak but romantic poetic essence of the stories. The piano accompaniment is written in a dramatic manner, coloristic and dynamic. Music evolves from the lyrical and impressionistic figures in “Spring”, to the intense and angular gestures in “Winter”. The centered voice of a female character reminiscences elements of Kunqu opera, an old form of Chinese opera of passionate and melodious character. 
The track features soprano Katy Clark with pianist Denise Jung, who sung beautifully in Mandarin.

The lovely Lo Fo of the western land 
Plucks mulberry leaves by the waterside. 
Across the green boughs stretches out her white hand;

Tarry not with your five-horse cab, I pray." 

SUMMER

On Mirror Lake outspread for miles and miles, 
The lotus lilies in full blossom teem. 
In fifth moon Xi Shi gathers them with smiles, 
Watchers o'erwhelm the bank of Yuoye Stream. 
Her boat turns back without waiting moonrise 
To royal house amid amorous sighs.

AUTUMN

A slip of the moon hangs over the capital; 
Ten thousand washing-mallets are pounding; 
And the autumn wind is blowing my heart 
For ever and ever toward the Jade Pass.... 
Oh, when will the Tartar troops be conquered, 
And my husband come back from the long campaign! 

WINTER

The courier will depart next day, she's told. 
She sews a warrior's gown all night. 
Her fingers feel the needle cold. 
How can she hold the scissors tight? 
The work is done, she sends it far away. 
When will it reach the town where warriors stay?
