Hervé, aka Super Ons, co-founder of Amsterdam based electronic music label Polychrome Audio, and one half of Noord Loop, is one of the earliest and closest friends of RPU. Today, he takes us on a new musical journey, moving his audience from his playground, the dancefloor, to the new frontier of a relaxed and joyful state of mind, through a mix of ambient, jazz and soul tunes. It made all the sense in the world to give him the keys to the Sunday Sedatives vault and we're thrilled to finally share this regenerative piece with our community.

@superons is before all an artist who lives and breathes music. Finding his roots in Hip-hop and RnB and constantly exploring new sounds and horizons, he thrives in building bridges between genres to revive memories, and create new ones.

When Mozart brought the Turkish folk music vibe to his 1782 operatic hit "Die Entführung aus dem Serail" he launched an ever growing hunger in the West for the sounds of the Ottoman Empire.
 
Drop the powdered wigs and funny pants and you might say the same thing is happening in Melbourne right now.
 
Over 3 hours cut from a 6 hour session recorded live at 1001 Nights of old, new, rare and classic sounds from the far east where the sun rises!
 
Mixed by Maryouss, an Iraqi emigrant living in Melbourne and DJ Baba Noir, who also emigrated to Melbourne from Turkey with his original collection of 70s Turkish psych and folk-disco. Their shared mission is to spread the hidden sounds of the Orient through mixes of dusty psychedelia, disco, jazz fusion and anything in between, celebrating the ongoing cycle of influence created by east/west crossover sounds and their heritage.

Pool Party, I played at one last year and never had more fun at a daytime chill spot - I love swimming about, checking out everyone's bloated rigs, sippin crisp dranks and wearing sunglasses upside down and waiting for someone to notice. 

A TRACK/ALBUM GETTING YOU EXCITED FOR SUMMER?
In summer I always find myself sinking back into the chill beat aesthetic of Jeen Bassa, Reginald Omas Mamode IV, Mo Kolours, Al Dobson Jr, James ‘Creole’ Thomas, etc.
