Vade Mecum is the latin for a handbook that is intended to be carried at all times. The new Bucharest based label aims for the same thing, putting together for the first release three tracks that trancend time and genres.

For the 5th vinyl in the series, @andusimion with his ARCTIC CIRCLE EP, takes us on a trip outside the realm of the customary vibes you find on the GFD label.

There's a place somewhere in Eastern Europe called Ploiesti. Even though a terribly industrial city, it's the place you'd least expect for, let's say, Detroit roots to grow. Yet somehow, ANDU SIMION, a Ploiesti native and a son of the Lisiere, manages to craft his personal sound embodying the spirit of the Motor City as a source for his creativity.  

Previous releases on Berlin-based Polen or on Priku's Atipic label have shown just how much Andu's productions have been evolving in the last years, managing to evoke and provoke the emotional and conceptual sense of his own take of the electronic music spectrum. 

Also, we're featuring a remix for the first time and it's coming from London! @brettjacobs  is part of the Yoyaku agency and you might already know his music from records released on labels such as Body Parts or Nima Gorji's NG Trax, among others. 

Brett's trademark approach on "Dreamscope Fourteen", little dark over here, little groovy over there, brings to the EP the kind of deep underground flavor we particularly enjoy for our late mornings, in this part of the world.

Dubfluss and Rowlanz have combined forces for this release, composing two original tracks as solo artists, as well as collaborating on the title track ‘Intergalactic’. The overall vibe of the release outlines the sound of the label further, with more pad work then a boxing gym and a lot of carefully selected FX which travel through the tracks. 

Not only have we had the pleasure of partying with these beautiful people as well as their artists on many occasions, we have also been given the opportunity to present you with a full length preview of the remix on the next release, coming from Subb-An!

Lyra is DeWaltas fourth large project and third full-length album following Wander in 2012 (on Haunt), llumination in 2014 (on Meander) and Dark Matter in 2017 (on Amphia).

The album consists of two individually available parts: a double LP (Lyra) with 6 tracks on Meander as well as a single LP (Lyra Pi) with 5 synth and ambient works. The Ambient-Part launches a new Meander Horizon Pi series-- a departure from Meander’s well known dancefloor releases.

Lyra is by far DeWaltas most extensive and refined project to date. With 11 exclusive songs, a total running time of over 100 minutes - plus a collaboration with long time friend and Meander co-owner Fabian Geimer-Lorusso aka. Jupiter - it marks a new beginning of ambient and score-like modern works as well as the continuation of his inspired intellectual-emotional approach to dance music.

Lyra is a star-constellation in the northern hemisphere which is highest in the midnight sky in the early summer months. It contains one of the brightest stars in the sky - Vega. Many of the songs on this album were produced in these warm and gentle months during an inspirational creative time in Portugal.

In Greek mythology, Lyra represents the Lyre of Orpheus, Apollo’s son. Made by Hermes from a tortoise-shell, it was given to Apollo who then passed it along to Orpheus. It is said to be the first music instrument ever made.
