Hotflush presents the solo debut of Lando Kal, otherwise known as one half of the booty-shaking production-DJ duo Lazer Sword. A recent import to Berlin from San Francisco via New York City, Lando embodies a unique style all his own, which clearly shines through on this record. Soulful, emotive and slightly outside the box, “Further” and “Time Out” move through of elements of UK garage, West Coast bass and Funky, retaining a crucial dancefloor sensibility throughout.

The South Coast of the UK has bred another 2 successful names in underground music who have joined forces to create a home for a new wave of house, bass and forward thinking creations.. Food.

The label launches with Shadow Child’s own 23 EP, 4 slices of peaktime house led by the infectious title track ‘23’, a collaboration with Tymer. Solo tracks ‘Sensible Haircut’ and ‘The Verdict pt2’ take things deeper with a more edgy sound and a rather smashing remix from label partners Kry Wolf to boot.

Support and airtime so far from notable names such as Eats Everything and Mistajam, carving out solid beginnings.

The prodigious Frenchman Habstrakt closes out the calendar year in trademark style.

It’s becoming apparent with every Habstrakt release that he is instilling himself as one of the most prevalent original voices within the bass scene. The Tension EP is his latest offering on Never Say Die, filled with four distinct tracks all displaying elements that remind us why the likes of Flux Pavilion, Datsik, Rusko continually champion the young talent. With the cheeky triplet dubstep opener ‘Gluttony’ and inventive “Lady” to the effortlessly French 110 tinged sounds of “Tension” and “Mantis” Habstrakt has once again displayed the flawless dexterity of his productions.
