An Argentinean duo with over a decade's experience in the Progressive House scene, Jose Duque and Bruno Signorelli have seen their music feature on such esteemed imprints as Higher States, Mango Alley and Balkan Connection, with their Abity production moniker. Debuting on Particles with their "Beyond" EP, "Horizons" is a delicate rhythmic gem that trips along with woodblock percussion and deep kick. Reverb-drenched vocal washes and flowing motifs add melodic character as a rich bass groove adds weight and dancefloor appeal post-breakdown. "Move" continues the bassline cadence as light melodies shimmer across the mid-range. Counterpoint phrases add further charm as white-noise passages filter across the stripped back mid-point. Full of hypnotic poise, it is the perfect pause before the powerful "Beyond" makes its presence felt with rippling arpeggio and emotive piano sequence. A trademark bassline adds force and weight as a spine-tingling melodic progression is carried along by a strong beat and rolling percussive groove before a searing synth lead makes a play in the third movement.

A high-profile artist with releases on the likes of All Day I Dream, Vapour Recordings, and Hoomidaas, Mass Digital is an established producer with well over 500 production credits to his name. Making his debut in mid-2010, the Serbian star now makes his first appearance on Particles with a gorgeous reworking of "Beyond". Familiar melodic lines weave their way through the 7-minute piece while an effortlessly rolling percussive groove meanders across the top line. Stunning new piano sequences and synth phrasing emerge from the Mass Digital production repertoire as the remix blossoms in shimmering new directions post-breakdown whilst remaining firmly rooted in Abity's original sound.

Veterans of the underground house scene, Blood Groove and Kikis are well known to the Particles faithful with a series of remixes dating back to 2015 and a reworking of GMJ's "Silent Love". Interpretations of Nikko.Z, Andre Sobota and East Café have all since followed as the Latvian duo now return with a second remix of 2021. Taking a typically mellifluous approach to their music, Blood Groove & Kikis have developed "Move" into a smooth flowing track that shifts easily within the themes laid out by Abity. Anchored by heavy beat and ticking percussive groove, subtle guitar riffs and string phrasings complement each other in unhindered fashion before delicate organic house elements weave a magical path post-breakdown.

The final remixer is a Proton Music regular who has also found his work featured for such blue-chip imprints as Hoomidaas, Where The Heart Is, Harabe and his own Truesounds Music. Peter Makto's "Purple Rain" EP with Gregory S was a Proton highlight in September 2018 as the Hungarian producer now debuts on Particles with a typically innovative reworking of "Horizons" that strips away the melodic layers to reveal a newly cadenced arpeggio that flourishes amongst deep kick and ticking hi-hats. An emerging synth line adds to the collage as elements from Abity's original filter into the breakdown. The second half continues the rhythmic arp and complementary phrasing of earlier movements in an impressive Peter Makto remix.

A triptych of original tracks combined with a trio of stunning remixes finds Abity creating a wonderful "Beyond".

Founded in 2020 Future Avenue is an electronic music imprint which operates under the Sound Avenue umbrella. Sitting alongside fellow subdivisions 3rd Avenue and Crossfade Sounds, Future Avenue looks to provide a home for new and rising talent. With an ethos centred around progressive music and its surrounding derivatives, the label is a platform which gives up and coming artists a chance to showcase their music alongside established veterans as they carve out their own musical identity.

The latest release welcomes John Moore from Greece to the label with his "Sailing Zanj EP" including the tracks "Firefly" and "Sunrise In Kilwa".

John Moore was dropped in the bottomless pit of music from the tender age of 6, when he picked up the violin and started figuring out the mechanics of music theory. It was during the 90's, that his consistent and ever growing career as a musician met with the mysteriously attractive artificial sounds widely popular as Electronic Dance Music. Soon after that his thirst to conquer the genre manifested in Djing for various venues and bars and not much later on, producing electronic music himself. He has steadily been releasing a variety of consequent tracks and remixes since 2008

John Moore (GR) - Firefly [Future Avenue]

The latest release from Nikko.Z's Dopamine White welcomes Ultraverse to the label for his debut EP. Based in Ireland, Ultraverse first emerged in 2016 with releases via Crop Circle and Morninglory Music. Drawing inspiration from Depeche Mode, Hernan Cattaneo, Lee Burridge and Sasha, Ultraverse quickly established himself in the world of progressive music. In building a meticulous discography over the next five years, the Dublin resident continued to refine his sound, eventually earning the recognition of world class DJ Nick Warren who signed him to his The Soundgarden imprint as part of the label's 2020 Winter Collection. Now coming off the lead selection on BC2's 400th release, Ultraverse continues on an upwards trajectory with his Dopamine White debut 'Rubicon', alongside a remix from Menkee.
Beginning with the pulsating hypno grooves of the title selection, Ultraverse marries fluid rhythms with heady effects and radiant atmospheres. Evolving percussive arrangements and timely melodic accents add nicely to its mediative pulse, before shifting energy into a captivating break. Understated in nature, the centrepiece delights with shimmering arrays and a spoken word narrative, building intrigue and tension before a gentle rush of drums summons the groove for a deep and engaging finale. The companion piece 'Arabian Nights' proves to be a perfect complement with its hip swinging cadence and cross-cultural motifs. Icy pads and percussive rides add nicely to its glacial flow as the main break approaches. Tense and meditative in equal measure, the interlude saturates your senses with a transcendent vocal element, wonderfully offset with atmospheric tension, before reaching a gentle crescendo and percussive final movement.
The release concludes with Menkee also making his label debut and providing the lone interpretation of 'Rubicon'. Hailing from Switzerland, Menkee has been a fixture of the progressive music underground for the better part of a decade. Releases via Balkan Connection, BC2, Mirabilis Records, MNL and Pro B Tech Music highlight his discography, while support has come in from the likes of genre tastemaker Hernan Cattaneo. Now making his Dopamine White debut, Menkee turns in a groovy rendition of 'Rubicon'. Engaging from the outset, buoyant kicks and rhythmic pulses converge for a fluid foundation, while vibrant percussion and swirling sonics bring texture to the groove. Building an emotive narrative across the first act, nostalgic melodies and hazy harmonics unite for impassioned moments. Sitting at the heart of the journey, the centrepiece delights with its timeless appeal, where billowing bass swells anchor a cloud of melodic fragments and intriguing vocal phrases, before smoothly segueing into a heartfelt finale. An inspired remix from Menkee which rounds out an impressive label debut for both himself and Ultraverse, two artists on the rise in the world of progressive house.
