An artist with a rich production pedigree to his name, Traumhouse, returns to Particles with a new twin-track EP and "The Way It Is".

Able to point to a century of production credits over almost a decade, Hannover-based Traumhouse has found himself a regular on the likes of celebrated labels, Amulanga, Bekool Records and Songuara Tales. "Avem" found its way onto Proton Music in mid-2020, in collaboration with fellow countrymen, LADS, while a remix of Dmitry Molosh by the pair towards the end of the year was another notable highlight. A single remix graced Particles in early 2021 as LADS & Traumhouse reworked Li-Polymer's "Jacaranda" as the German artist now returns for a solo outing and "The Way It Is".

A delicate and emotive symphonic opening characterises the title track before a sumptuous beat and rich percussive top-line add groove aplenty. Evolving easily over its 8-minute duration, complementary melodies weave in and out of each other in warm, feel-good vibes before a powerful female vocal enters the fray at the mid-point. Carrying a poignant message, the phrasing adds depth and emotion before the stringed instrumentation of the opening section makes a return in the second half. The result is an exceptionally-well produced and complex melodic arrangement.

Partner track "You", provides the same rich melodic and vocal narrative as a rich rhythmic pattern and deep kick creates a beautifully imagined soundscape for the vocal to flourish. Carrying themes of romance, love and spiritual connection, Traumhouse produces a swathe of delicate melodic patterns, not least with a beautiful piano sequence at the breakdown that encompasses reverse-reverb samples and a hugely impressive set of production techniques that evoke feelings of bliss and contentment.

A single remix comes courtesy of Brazilian star, RIGOONI. A trio of remixes from 2022-23 saw the Brazilian shine on Proton Music as he reworked the likes of Savvas, Dabeat and progressive superstars, Trilucid, while a reworking of Rayomand's "Running Away" in August 2021 marked a single appearance on Particles. Now returning, the RIGOONI remix keeps the vocal so prominent in "The Way It Is" and wraps it in a new rhythmic envelope that bristles with dynamic energy and chest-thumping beat. A huge sub-bassline adds to the sonic depth while familiar melodic patterns can be heard through the string section. New melodic motifs make their presence felt as RIGOONI's additional production sits immaculately alongside Traumhouse's components. The result is a magical interpretation that explodes into a rhythmic powerhouse in the final movement with pitched toms and glissando lead.

Serbian duo, Beat Maniacs, have been mainstays of the progressive house scene for over seven years with their sublime sonic artistry. Returning to Particles with a pair of new tracks in the shape of the "Prophet" EP. Remixes comes a pair of outstanding talents from Mexico and India.

From the Belgrade capital, Petar Bogojevic and Nikola Radivojevic have been at the epicentre of Serbia's dance scene for some time. With a combination of musicianship and strong musical heritage, the pair formed their Beat Maniacs pseudonym which quickly bore fruit with production material that has gone from strength to strength since early releases in 2010. Thus, Balkan Connection, Stellar Fountain and Lowbit have all played host to the duo's sound with a debut following on Particles as part of the "Winter 2014" compilation. 2016's twin-track "Gravitas" was a notable highlight as Beat Maniacs now return with a pair of original contributions. With its dominant beat and growling bassline, "Djomia" delights with stripped back percussive layer and glistening melodic line. A seething dancefloor monster, a delicious motif plays out accompanied by glissando effects to create a distinctive piece. The title track retains the strong rhythmic foundations of its partner track with heavy beat and subtle percussive flair. Emerging in the second movement, a wonderful bass groove creates a firm framework for a meandering melodic line to coruscate across the seven-minute piece with freeform subtlety and craft, creating an innovative work.

Diego Carr is an artist who has grown in stature and reputation with each successive release of his Hot TuneiK moniker. With a double-century of production credits to his name since 2012's debut for House Tribe Records, the Mexican has gone on to see his work gracing the world's finest underground imprints from Balkan Connection and 3rd Avenue to Forward Music and Soundteller. Owner of the rapidly growing Hookah Records, the Hot TuneiK sound has found its way to Particles courtesy of releases that include October 2017's "Erase and Rewind" EP. With forthcoming original music scheduled for Proton Music, a trio of Particles remixes is now joined by a fourth as Hot TuneiK creates a sumptuous and lilting interpretation of "Djomia". Using Beat Maniacs' original components to masterful effect, a new and beautiful lead line gently weaves a path across the stereo spectrum. Exquisitely evolving, intricate percussive layers blend with ease as a new bass groove helps create a special remix.

Needling little introduction after a magical production career that began in early 2013, Nakul Ambilkar has been at the vanguard of the underground dance scene in recent years with his SEQU3L soubriquet. Heavily supported by the likes of Hernan Cattaneo, the Indian producer has impressed with a wealth of original and remix material that has seen him rack up a century of production credits. A regular on the likes of Movement Recordings, Freegrant and Juicebox Music, the "Timelapse" EP for the latter, lit up autumn 2016 with its huge club groove. Now debuting on Particles, the SEQU3L remix of "Prophet" is a joy to behold with its dancefloor destroyer credentials that hit hard through rock-solid bass groove and precision rhythm. Effortlessly building with layer after layer, Beat Maniacs' lead line is fully represented as it meanders across the mid-range. Reaching its zenith in the third movement, the combination of ever-growing groove and subtle melodic flow, make for an inspired interpretation.

In East Café and GMJ, two of the industry's most exciting names have forged a musical partnership that has borne fruit in the shape of "22". Included with the original track is a pair of remixes from Israeli and Australian stars. In Gabor Kaszas and Gavin Griffin, the progressive scene has been well represented with a host of high-calibre releases. Hugely successful figures in their own rights having remixed each other on a number of occasions for Clinique and Particles, the duo has come together to create something very special in "22". A typically driving rhythm, combined with intelligently placed offbeat percussion and hi-hat pattern sees a warm and rasping bass line provide the foundation for sumptuous melodies to evolve from the rhythmic precision. With textured pads and gloriously swirling arpeggio providing aural interest and incredible sonic architecture, "22" brings together the very best from the minds and studios of Hungarian and Australian talents.

Returning to Proton Music after the success of his "Recovery" EP in August 2017, Igal Magitman is another icon of the underground dance arena. A mainstay of the scene, his renowned live performances and release catalogue totalling some 300 production credits, has seen original and remix material signed to the likes of Global Underground, Toolroom and Twisted Frequency. A Proton Music career that began with early collaborative work with Brisker, has blossomed into a solo career that saw such renowned releases as "Cleaning Day" and remixes of Cristian R and Andrea Cassino in 2017. Now returning, the Magitman remix of "22" is a strong reworking, centred around huge rhythmic groove and rolling bassline dynamism that is full of dancefloor prowess. Intelligently using the melodic themes of the original and locking them to a tight new groove, the glittering arpeggio of the original makes its presence felt at the breakdown, before emerging again in the third movement with Magitman's plethora of additional production material in full flight.

A 2015 newcomer with a distinctive sound based on "lush soundscapes and twisting melodies", Andrew McMillan has been a revelation with his Doppel soubriquet. Live performances at some of Australia's leading festivals including, Subsonic, and Rabbit Eats Lettuce, have cemented an impressive reputation while a production portfolio has simultaneously blossomed, leading to a range of releases on the likes of Yes Yes and Bassic Records. Moreover, Doppel has been a regular on Australian imprint, Open Records, where "Melt" became a huge success backed by remixes from Jamie Stevens, Thankyou City and Retza. Now debuting on Proton Music, the Doppel remix of "22" is characterised by a strong rolling groove that evolves with intelligently reimagined workings of East Café and GMJ's melodic concepts, melded with a host of original production material and new melodic directions. The central arpeggio theme of the original makes its presence felt and the effects-laden affair brings a strong touch of class to proceedings.

With the dominant "22" turning lofty dreams into reality for East Café and GMJ, remixes from Magitman and Doppel only increase its power.
