Following the success of August 2021's debut compilation series, and a first volume featuring six original tracks from a stellar cast of international talent, GMJ and Matter now return with a thoroughbred 10-track sequel in "Meanwhile Excursions, Vol. 2".

Presenting a global dance party with artists from across the continents, from North and South America to Europe, Australasia and Asia, the second instalment of the "Meanwhile Excursions" series combines an array of established talent with up-and-coming nubreed artists who shine a bright light on the progressive house genre.

Opening with the deep bass groove of "Negev", Colombian star, Golan Zocher, and label head-honcho, GMJ, blend their talent with a delicate ambience that shimmers across its 8-minute time fame with textured pads and flowing soundscape. Mango Alley favourite, Forty Cats continues with the smooth sounds of "Mutualism" as hypnotic rhythms and bass groove propel things forwards, while Andrés Moris creates club-friendly force via "Owen's Dream". Full of emotive chords progressions and twinkling arpeggios, a pulsating bassline makes for a beautifully assured debut.

Redolent in intricate percussive groove and juxtaposed with sumptuous synth arrangement, Tonaco's "Setentrional" is a rhythmic tour de force that only pauses for breath at the beatless breakdown, while Dowden's first of two offerings is a typically impressive offering with "Halstatt" glittering via earworm motif that melds with freeform counterpoint sequence as it evolves through a flurry of white-noise fills and mesmerising presence.

A slow-burning jewel that combines strong rhythmic force with running bassline presence, "Retro" finds Ivan Aliaga showcasing an evolving melodic tapestry that waxes and wanes with ease, while "Misanthropy" is another rhythm-fuelled affair that demonstrates why NOIYSE PROJECT is a name currently on the lips of the progressive cognoscenti with his club-friendly groove and ear for melodic emotion. Moving forwards, the low-slung groove of EMPHI's "The Box" helps to generate a brooding wall of sound that builds in tension-filled phases that rise and fall in ever-evolving synth work and stereo-panned white-noise effects.

The second track from Dowden see him join forces with Meanwhile's other co-founder as the immaculate production credentials of Matter see beautiful piano phrases glitter across "York", fully exposed at the mid-point where reverb-drenched and delay-soaked chords vie for space with a dynamic rhythmic backdrop and ticking hi-hat percussion. Ending as it starts, smooth melodic patterns flow from the fingertips of Gorkiz and Distro in cascading layers of dreamy sonic passages that create a coruscating mosaic of sound atop the blistering rhythmic energy of "Staring at the Sun".

A 10-track trip through the sound of modern progressive house, "Meanwhile Excursions, Vol. 2" is a journey to remember.

PREMIERE: Tonaco - Setentrional (Original Mix) [MEANWHILE]

As Circulation, Paul Davis has found himself at the leading edge of underground dance music for over 25 years. Initially, with former production partner Matt Jackson, Circulation was responsible for a string of high-profile releases for the likes of Bedrock, Selador and Hooj Choons with performances at Fabric (London), Creamfields (Argentina) and Sónar (Barcelona). Now making his Particles debut, "Mistinguette" is an elegantly constructed melodic gem that lilts gently across its near 7-minute timeframe with a clicking / popping top-line and sub-bass groove. Sumptuous pads and liberally scattered effects add to the luxurious canopy of sound before an ethereal vocal line opens up the breakdown to spine-tingling effect. Picking up the rhythmic poise again in the second half combined with melodic charm and vocal phrasing, the track is a magical debut offering.

Jamie Stevens has been a regular contributor to Proton labels over a star-studded career stretching back more than two decades first through work with the ARIA award-winning, Infusion act. Alongside work for Bedrock, microCastle and Meanwhile, 5 remixes for Proton Music have showcased an inimitable Australian talent with reworkings for the likes of Petar Dundov, James Monro and Hrag Mikkel, the latter in December 2023. Now returning to Particles after a May 2020 remix of Sam Hopgood's "Lobster", the Jamie Stevens remix takes "Mistinguette" on a propane-fuelled journey of chunky beats and synth phrasing. A mesmerising motif forms a foundation from the second movement from which a panoply of new phrases, effects, scattered sounds and vocal flourishes evolve into a new interpretation that moves into familiar sounding territory in the second half to share a common theme with Circulation's original.

An artist with a long and successful career both as globally touring DJ, producer and label owner, the UK-born, Brazilian-based James Monro has had a string of hits on both Proton labels. A half-century of releases comes on Proton Music, not least through 3 volumes of the successful "Sanctuary" series, while remixes for Derek Howell, Sapiens & Springa, Roger Martinez and VovaWave sprinkle stardust across the Particles catalogue. Now returning to the label for the first time since 2019, the James Monro remix of "Mistinguette" is a typically powerful and driving number that takes the core melodic themes of the original and transforms them into a club-friendly banger. A chest-thumping kick, ticking hi-hat groove and rousing glissando bassline sequence provide the backdrop, while a swathe of new melodies entwine easily with familiar chord progressions and sweeping pads. The result is another stunning James Monro interpretation.

Jacid Jam from SQL & low& with Out of Sorts remix. In a serendipitous turn of events, three DJs found themselves entwined in the vibrant tapestry of electronic music, culminating in a collaborative EP set to enrapture audiences worldwide. The trio, comprising Goetzlich(Switchbox), Pim(SQL), and (Marcelo)Dreamawaken, embarked on a musical odyssey that began over a decade ago in the heart of Cologne. Despite their initial connection in 2010, it wasn't until 2023 that destiny intervened once more, catalysing a reunion that would redefine their musical trajectory. Goetzlich and Pim found themselves sharing the stage at the esteemed Evolution Festival in southern Germany, igniting a dormant spark of collaboration. The seamless fusion of their sounds reignited their creative synergy, beckoning them towards a shared vision. Recognizing Marcelo's existing partnership with Goetzlich under the moniker "low&", Pim seamlessly joined the fold, adding depth and dimension to their collective endeavor. In this debut EP on Beat & Path, you can sense an unwavering connection formed over years of mutual appreciation and artistic journeying. The track titled "Jacid Jam" whisks you away to a distant planet nestled at the edge of the cosmos. A mesmerizing Moog ambiance envelops your thoughts, guiding them to distant realms. 'Blue Moon', is the new two-original-track EP by the Mexican artist ISMAEHL @ismaehl aka REPLICANTH @replicanth in collaboration with his Argentinian friend DARK SOUL PROJECT @darksoulproject . The peculiar style of these DJs & producers is characterized by progressive and organic house sounds, built with very tribal percussions which achieve a powerful groove, and melodic elements that make an unique atmosphere and harmony faithful to his roots,  that take us back to an ancient time, but also with an avant way.

The EP is completed with two amazing remixes. The experienced artist ANDRÉ MORET @andremoret remixes 'Blue Moon', showing his particular style, taken the main element from the original track. EDU SCHWARTZ @djedus puts all his artillery and skills to make a powerful and complex version of the same original 'Blue Moon'.
