Continuing a strong fall season, Clubsonica Records welcomes Matan Caspi back to the label for a new single. Highly regarded by his fans and contemporaries, the Tel Aviv resident is considered one of the most refreshing electronic music talents to come out of Israel. Having the distinction as one of the most Top 10 charted artists in Beatport's Progressive House section, Matan has showcased his music via a plethora of major labels, most notably Anjunabeats, Armada, Spinnin and Universal Music. March of 2018 marked Matan's Clubsonica debut with the well-received Crosswinds', before going on to contribute a track to the label's Miami Music Week' sampler a few short weeks later. Following projects for his Outta Limits imprint, Matan now returns to Clubsonica with a new single entitled Serengeti', alongside remixes from Dmitry Molosh and Juan Pablo Torrez and Dabeat.

Continuing what has been a fruitful year, Matan steps forward with Serengeti' which showcases his originality and sophistication as an artist. Anchored by a warm, muscular groove and smooth rhythmic pulses, the energy is striking from the outset. Cross cultural vocal phrasing steals the air as the first act evolves, elegantly moving through a forest of exotic drums and sweeping effects. Carrying into the main break, guitar slides add further musicality, marrying beautifully with fragmented vocals as waves of effects and drums unite for an exhilarating crescendo and suitably large finale.

Returning to the label and providing the first interpretation of Serengeti' is Dmitry Molosh. Widely regarded as a top tier talent in the progressive music scene, Dmitry's long-standing relationship with Clubsonica dates back to 2016 with a contribution to the label's ADE' sampler. The Belarusian artist would then go on to deliver two singles and a remix over the next four years. Now a veteran of the progressive house underground, Dmitry continues to showcase his music on the genre's premiere imprints, such as Cid Inc's Replug Records and Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music. Continuing what has been a prolific year, Dmitry now returns to Clubsonica with a spellbinding rendition of Serengeti'. A perfect balance of warmth and drive provides the foundation for fluid rhythms, buoyant arps and flickering percussion to work their magic. Sleeker and more hypnotic than the original, its peak time sensibility resonates across the first act, as icy pads provide a bridge into the main break, relieving tension for moments of tonal warmth, as a steady build sparks goosebump worthy moments, onwards to a thumping finale.

The release concludes with Clubsonica label boss Juan Pablo Torrez and occasional studio partner Dabeat providing the second and final interpretation of Serengeti'. Operating from the heart of Colombia's electronic music scene, this talented duo has collaborated in the past with exceptional results. A combined discography reveals a host of highly regarded landing spots, with Nick Warren's The Soundgarden, Beatfreak, Perspectives Digital and Proton Music being the most notable. Beloved as their country's foremost progressive music talents, Juan and Dabeat now unite once again for a special collaborative remix of Serengeti'. Warm and shapely, an undulating groove sits at the root of the track, providing the perfect backbone for reprocessed vocals and organic drums to delicately dance above. The Mediterranean moods from the original delight across the first act, bringing newfound musicality as wispy effects raise tension leading into the main break. Looking to bring greater emotional depth, the centrepiece proves impactful with fragmented arps, buzzing bass swells and poignant chord changes banding together for a spirited crescendo and glowing final movement. An inspired remix from Juan Pablo Torrez and Dabeat once again, capping off a welcome return to Clubsonica Records for Matan Caspi.

'Opening 2022’s final quarter, Cid Inc’s Replug Records welcomes Mike Griego back to the label for a new EP. Based in Buenos Aires, the Argentinean DJ and producer has carved out a unique place in the electronic underground. His exacting design, addictive grooves and avant-garde melodies have made for a transcendent sound that continues to unify dancefloors around the world. With a career that now approaches fifteen years and one hundred discography credits, Mike would have to be considered one of progressive music’s elite artists. A meticulous discography reflects his choosy nature; with Replug and Sudbeat serving as the primary landing spots for his musical output. With 2021 being highlighted by his most recent Replug vehicle ‘Dysbiosis’, the Argentine made a much-lauded return to Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music earlier this year with ‘Foreign Affair’, before laying down impressive renditions of Kasper Koman’s ‘In Circles’ and Dmitry Molosh & Navar’s ‘Foreign Wonders’, released c/o Juicebox Music and Proportion respectively. Now, continuing what has been a great year, Mike returns to Replug with a three-track showcase entitled ‘Flying Doves’. 

As a favourite of Replug label boss Cid Inc across the summer season, EP opener and title selection ‘Flying Doves’ finds Mike at his creative best. Shot in high-definition and full of detail and drive, it's an emotive voyage where the Buenos Aires resident flexes his freethinking muscles and lands comfortably in-between groove-centric science and hopeful musicality. The inevitable zenith of this peak-time excursion mounts with nostalgic melodies and balmy harmonics converging, achieving a rich, colourful timbre over a bed of pulsating beats and fascinating percussion arrangements. 

More enigmatic yet is the EPs second selection 'Brothi’', a creation which finds Mike etching towards a darker monochrome. Plush kick drums and voluptuous bass stabs lead to electrified iterations of new age sonics. Cleverly cadenced coactions underpin a fascinating blend of pyrotechnic effects, before segueing into the main break where metallic melodies and effervescent rides unite, setting the course for a finale of rebounding rhythms and surreal sonic aesthetics.

The third and final selection 'Blood Echo’ further solidifies Mike's transcendent abilities. Possessing a dramatic undercurrent, the Argentine works hypnotizing structures over punchy kick drums and detailed percussion, creating waves of locomotive meditation. Its thrilling pulse has become a production hallmark for Mike, one where inventive drum patterns, mesmerizing rhythms and quixotic effects carry the storyboard onwards to a thunderous dance floor awakening. A fitting conclusion to a fresh three-track odyssey, one where Mike carefully balances technique and musicality, thus continuing his tenure as one of Argentina’s most beloved progressive house producers.'

Another is a long line of talented artists from South America, Kamilo Sanclemente is an artist on a rising upward curve. Returning to Particles with new music and a pair of remixes, "Eva" continues his story.

From Cali, southwest of Bogota, Kamilo Sanclemente burst onto the underground scene in late 2013. As prolific as he is innovative, over 150 production credits can be found next to the Colombian's name from early 2016. Moreover, the list of blue chip labels on which Sanclemente's work has appeared includes Juan Pablo Torrez's Clubsonica Records and Darin Epsilon's Perspectives Digital – November 2017's "El Sol / La Luna" with Golan Zocher for the latter, being a highpoint. "Revelations" saw a three-track debut on Particles in August 2017 while "Eva" took its initial bow as part of the "Winter 2018" compilation. Reprised here, it is complemented by a new track, "Antlia". Redolent in a strong tribal percussion element, a body-shaking groove is accompanied a warm bass motif and lilting vocal phrase that perfectly fits the tribal percussive feel. Building relentlessly, the track explodes post-breakdown into a storming dance-floor gem with coruscating arpeggios and reprised vocal.

A remix of "Eva" comes from UK based Imran Khan who has shot to prominence through original work for Clinique Recordings in the shape of the "Distance Between Us" and "Time" EPs in late 2016. Going on to deliver music for the likes of Stellar Fountain and Astrowave, a remix of Hot TuneiK's "Erase and Rewind" marked an impressive Particles debut while the original track, "Arrival", appeared on the "Winter 2018" compilation in January. Now returning to the label, Khan's remix is a smooth affair that delights with its lilting groove and deep vibe. A rich bassline permeates the low end with its new progression while a clever reimagining of Sanclemente's elements sees textured pads and white-noise washes scintillate. An arpeggio resonant in the melodic themes of the original then creates intrigue at the mid-point.

Taking on partner track, "Antlia", Nicolas Rada is a name at the forefront of Argentina's underground scene. Influenced by the dark, experimental nature of Radiohead's music, Rada's cutting-edge work for the Balkan Connection label family, Soundteller and DAYS like NIGHTS have seen his influence grow, not least in a collaboration with Nick Warren remixing Eelke Kleijn at the start of 2018. August 2017's three-track "Sheremetyevo" was a Particles high point and remixes of Simos Tagias and Demitros are now followed by a typically impressive reworking of Kamilo Sanclemente. Displaying a sympathetic approach to the original, arpeggios undulate with sumptuous delays and pitched innovation while a new motif and a swathe of additional production material enchant. A strong beat and laid-back groove provide dancefloor credentials, resulting in a mature and intelligent remix that is a symbol of Rada's growing stature.

Remixes from Imran Khan and Nicolas Rada are dynamic and exiting partners to Kamilo Sanclemente and "Eva".

Spring 2018 saw Mexican artist, Hot Tuneik, debut on Proton Music with "Revival". Now returning to the EP, new remixes from esteemed producers provide a fresh new perspective.

The ‘double-headed dragon' that comprises the Lanvary production duo has seen Alex and Andrew become a major force in the electronic music scene. Diverse musical perspectives have seen the pair delight with a musical recipe that combines elements from progressive and deep house with techno flourishes in a distinct and unique sound. Over a century of production credits can be found next to the Lanvary name since an early debut for Underphunk in late 2010. Going on to see their music featured on Stellar Fountain, Mistique Music and Particles, their work for the latter has found success with a trio of original EPs in 2015's "Micromegas", 2016's "Penumbra" and 2017's "Leviathan". Lanvary's work for Proton Music is centred around the superb "Venus" in December 2017, while a pair of remixes for Matter is now followed by a wonderful reworking of "Memories". Hitting hard with dominant beat and ticking off-beat percussion, a sumptuous bass groove quickly makes its presence felt as the melodic elements of the original resonate through the Lanvary interpretation. The pulsating string motifs from Hot TuneiK's track rise and fall throughout and a host of new production material supply dynamic dance-floor credentials to keep club-goers happy with a seamless blend of rhythm and melody.

Hot TuneiK's "Revival" is complete as new remixes from Matter and Lanvary reinvent and revitalise.

Hot TuneiK - Memories (Lanvary Remix)

'Roger Martinez's Higher States concludes a successful year by welcoming Berni Turletti & Matias Chilano to the label for their debut EP. Perhaps best known for his releases on Sudbeat Music and The Soundgarden is Berni Turletti. With the backing of Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, the Cordoba resident has been tipped as one of progressive music's future stars. Similarly, Argentinean artist Matias Chilano has spent time on the genre's premiere imprints, most notably Sudbeat Music and Replug Records, while earning praise from Guy J and Patrice Baumel. Having worked together once previously for an EP on Juicebox Music, Berni and Matias now partner up once again for their Higher States debut 'Identity / Sarayu'.

Drawing on a variety of smooth rhythmic concepts the EP begins with 'Identity'. On a backbone of warm, buoyant beats comes mounds of perfectly contoured bass and a lively percussive cadence. Fluid yet electric, an atmospheric glow encases the framework, as timely stabs and effervescent effects unite in a perfect sonic marriage. The narrative shifts as energetic pulses initiate the main break, with buzzing sonics gently rising alongside the main melody, as the beats drop for a spirited finale.

The companion piece 'Sarayu' continues the progressive minded vibes of its predecessor. Vibrant stabs and spacey effects sit atop a full, rolling groove as the journey commences. Wintry overlays elevate mood as the first act evolves, perfectly setting the stage for an elastic-like arp to push momentum into the breakdown. Furthering its emotive appeal, the centrepiece melts down into a striking melody; reflective in nature, the cascading theme provides heartfelt moments, perfectly setting up a gentle crescendo as the groove gallops towards a stirring final movement.

With 'Identity' and 'Sarayu', Berni Turletti & Matias Chilano continue to build on their creative synergy, delivering two creations that will be firmly etched in the hearts of progressive music fans, rounding out a successful year for Roger Martinez's Higher States.'
