In March 2014, a flurry of activity saw an Australian dance legend renew his acquaintance with both the Proton Music and Particles imprints. Eight tracks illustrated Rowan's impressive prowess within the underground dance arena as Particles now revisits the "Cantstandya" EP with remixes from GMJ, Kiwamu and Li-Polymer.

Operating from his home in Melbourne, Australian, Gavin Griffin, provides the first reinterpretation of Matt Rowan's title track through his GMJ moniker. A seasoned DJ with a well-stamped passport, Griffin has travelled the world espousing his unique blend of deep and progressive house with a catalogue of work signed to such high-class imprints as Stripped, Balkan Connection and Vapour. GMJ's work for Particles in 2014 has been equally impressive and two EPs in "Edge of Remembrance" and "Forgotten Wisdom" have provided a clutch of original works of smooth brilliance. Now remixing his fellow countryman, GMJ's rework of "Cantstandya" is a jaunt through crisp percussive rhythms, haunting textures and bouncing bass line. Dance floor sympathies immediately find themselves in evidence while careful sensitivity is played to Rowan's original in creating a work of intrigue and complexity.

Involved in music from an early age, Kiwamu's passion for "healing and acoustic music" saw an affinity for piano and classical music develop ultimately dance music production. Inspired by the likes of Ferry Corsten and Rank 1, the Japanese artist's talent saw 2010's debut "Elegance/Birth" EP signed to world famous Otographic Music label. Since then a clutch of further productions for the label have been supplemented by work for Nuevadeep, Silk and Portrait Digital. His music supported by Airwave and Solarstone, Kiwamu now makes his Particles debut remixing Matt Rowan. Taking on "Sorted", his effortlessly smooth production sensibilities cleverly incorporate themes inherent in Rowan's original within an uplifting rhythmic framework and trademark melodic interplay. Juxtaposing Rowan's staccato vocal cuts on top, the resultant work is full of poise and grace.

From the Portuguese archipelago of Madeira, Fabio Pereira has been a staunch advocate of the underground progressive sound since a debut for his Li-Polymer pseudonym in 2009. Since then, over a double century of production credits have come thick and fast with the hugely successful Balkan Connection accounting for a quarter. Mistique Music, Plusquam and Liquid Grooves have further played host to the Li-Polymer sound, supported by some of the leading lights of the DJ world in Laurent Garnier, Nick Warren and Hernan Cattaneo. Another debutant to Particles, Pereira takes his production prowess to "Cantstandya" conjuring up a silky, aural landscape that envelopes the listener in warm multi-textured layers combined with crisply plucked motifs and delayed sequences. A strong beat in tandem with Rowan's original vocal phrasing adds further dynamism to an already impressive work.

His work treated to three glorious new interpretations, Matt Rowan's legacy is surely "Sorted" with "Cantstandya" far from the thoughts of global club goers.

As one of Brazil's most highly regarded progressive house artists, Andre Moret has achieved many successes across his seven year career. World class DJs Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren have been regular supporters, while his inimitable productions have found a home on Mango Alley, Plattenbank, The Soundgarden and Warung Recordings, amongst others. Also an accomplished DJ, the Campinas resident has taken his impeccable taste and smooth programming skills around the world, performing in Argentina, Colombia and Uruguay, while also being a fixture of Brazil’s vibrant nightlife, through his highly regarded gigs at D.EDGE, Club 88, Clash Club, Gate22 and more. Now, fresh off a well-received EP for Clubsonica, Andre adds roku to his resume with a two-track showcase entitled ‘Mind Guides’. 

Beginning with ‘Mind Guides’, Andre showcases a groovy hypnotic approach which sets the tone for the EP. Full of alluring textures and fresh design qualities, the Brazilian talent expertly blends warm kick drums and voluptuous grooves, with rolling rhythms, haunted vocal choirs and wavy arpeggiated sequences, for a captivating path into the break. Further revealing his creative attitude across the interlude, it’s a short but tense build which emerges to reveal submerged chord stabs and a powerful drop, before vocal narrative returns for an engaging finale. 

The companion piece ‘Night of Falling Lights’ lands with a decidedly deeper approach, as Andre flexes his rhythmic acumen across the seven minute piece. Rolling basslines provide the anchor for glowing synth phrasing and spirited sonics to highlight a dreamy top line, continually evolving across the main break, as modulation peaks and the groove re-engages to create a club energy that is both stirring and confident.
