In July 2015, Australian newcomer, Somersault, burst on to the underground house scene with a trio of progressive and tech house gems that glittered brightly within the Particles catalogue. Revisiting the "Zodiacs and That" EP, the chunky rhythms and counterpoint melodies of "Space is Big" are now reprised alongside outstanding remixes from Dutch and Polish talents.

Alex O'Rion's pedigree within the genres of trance and progressive house is pure thoroughbred. A man with a century of production credits for the legendary Black Hole Recordings, founded by superstar DJ, Tiesto, his service to the imprint has included multiple original productions and high profile remixes. Furthermore, 2011's full-length album, "The Bigger Room", provided a slice of high calibre trance that saw O'Rion's stock rise. Official remixes for the likes of Ferry Corsten and Cosmic Gate point to a producer at the very top of his game while 2014's "Smile" featuring the vocal talents of Julie Thompson saw support from the DJ elite across the board and the launch of the "Bigger Room Radio" podcast.

Resident DJ for Tiesto's "In Search of Sunrise" tour alongside Richard Durand completed a hectic 2014 with a series of dates at festivals and clubs across Europe including London's Ministry of Sound and Ibiza's El Paradis. 2015 continued to see a raft of production work for Mango Alley, Spring Tube and Nueva and it is with great pleasure that we welcome Alex O'Rion for his Particles debut. Taking "Space is Big" on a seven-minute excursion through pulsating bass vibrancy, O'Rion's impressive offering reworks Somersault's original supplemented with intelligent additional production and scintillating modification of melodic themes. The result is an evolving masterpiece that broadens out post-breakdown to a bold dance floor jewel.

A second Particles debutant is no stranger to Proton family of labels. From the Warsaw capital, Polish producer Sebastian Weikum, has come a long way since 2010's "Strawberry Land" for Aleph Records saw support from Tiesto, Armin van Buuren and Above and Beyond. Finding his work featured on such luminary imprints as Black Hole, Colorize and Enhanced, it is with Intricate Records that Weikum has found a home. A clutch of original material has found its way to the label after 2013's "Gimme" saw remixes from Ben Coda and Alexey Sonar. "Monsoon", "About You" and October 2015's "Gone", have all provided ample illustration of the Pole's talent as he continues to go from strength to strength.

Arriving at Particles through his remix of Somersault, the 'Sebastian Weikum presents "The Vehicle Remix"' of "Space is Big" is a delightful rerub that echoes the melodic themes inherent in the original with a stripped back beat and extra production in the shape of an analogue lead riff. The real star is the addition of a haunting and loquacious vocal line that adds an entirely new dimension to the track in imperious fashion, creating a work of scope and vision.

Tumbling through the here and now, Somersault has proved that although "Space is Big", there is room aplenty for Alex O'Rion and Sebastian Weikum to flourish.

Yin and Yang (n.) - the concept of duality forming a whole. A fundamental premise in Chinese philosophy now transposed to the electronic dance industry through the creation of Proton "Editions". Through encyclopaedic knowledge of the 800+ strong Proton roster of labels Tripp Baronner has envisioned a new concept of the principle of seemingly polar opposites, coming together as interconnected and independent universal forces - life and death, the dark and the light: one complete entity.

From a passion for underground progressive house at opposite ends of the audio spectrum - the deep, shadowy atmospheres to the blissful, shimmering melodies, "Yin" and "Yang" were born in an effort to represent this phenomenon in musical form. Each release will provide a single remix of an existing Proton roster track for two inextricably linked labels in the form of a light (Yang) and dark (Yin) edition. Released on the same day, a strong contrast in styles will thus serve to complement each other and nourish the whole.

Since launching in early 2016, the Explorations series returns for its fourth outing. Having previously welcomed artists such as Theo Kottis, Tontario, Modd and Luttrell to the label, ‘Anjunadeep Explorations 04’ introduces more new faces to the family.

Previously one-half of production duo Journeyman, Dom Furlonge makes his debut outing under his new Antic alias with EP opener ‘And I Pray’. Dom showcases his own vocals and distinctive production flair on this quirky club cut.

Our second track brings together the Bath-based duo Kotu and Munich’s Sam Goku on ‘Ascension’, blending a subtle rolling bassline with soaring strings and sparse piano to wonderful effect. A much sought after ID from recent Anjunadeep Editions from James Grant and Dom Donnelly.

Next up is emerging German talent Ben Böhmer with ‘Flug & Fall’. Ben fuses organic elements, vocal chanting and warm melodic grooves in this uplifting number.

Closing the EP, Melbourne’s GMJ and Matter debut with throwback progressive gem ‘Earthless’.

He has released on labels like Cinematique, Soulful Techno, One of a Kind, Strange Town Recordings amongst others, and has gathered massive support from the world’s finest DJ's.

ICONYC are pleased to welcome Deeparture to the label with his brand new 3 track 'Black Box EP’ to warm the hearts. We kick things off with 'Tail Strike’ which features an amalgamation of smooth bass tones, subtle drum programming, a cleverly chopped samples and intricately weaved chord progressions, building to a beautiful breakdown before gradually rebuilding the elements to an unrelenting crescendo of breathy synth licks, chord stabs and an ever-warped bassline.

Next up is the title track ‘Black Box’ which is a stripped back affair utilizing a hypnotizing vocal sample as the basis of the track underpinned by a staccatoed bass that gradually eases its way to the breakdown of breaks percussive elements before unleashing into a rising melodic hook intertwined with the infectious groove that fades in and out for maximum effect. Fantastic stuff!

Last but not least we have the outstanding 'Crosswind'; that starts to delve into deeper territory, which sees lush pads fused with chord hits underpinned by Deeparture's trademark bass patterns, before all manner of varied melodies weave in and out of the stereo field to close out this wonderful 3 track release in style. Deeparture’s ‘Black Box EP’ highlights his continuing maturity and variety in his productions.

Dee Montero returns to Anjunadeep with his latest EP, ‘Headspace’. The EP’s title track sees the Belfast-born, Ibiza-based producer thread classic house piano stabs and hard-hitting percussion under Meliha’s alluring topline. The Kuala Lumpurn singer’s powerful vocals are then further accentuated in the dreamy ‘beatless' mix of ‘Headspace’. Heavy on the arpeggios and piano leads, the EP’s third track is the high-energy club-filler ‘Rise’, followed by closing piece ‘Rapido’ - an animalistic arrangement of vocal chops and gated synth lines.
