Eskimo Twins stopped by to furnish our ears with an exclusive ahead of their new EP soon come on Matt Walsh's very excellent Clouded Vision label.

Meeting whilst students in Leeds, Eskimo Twins discovered a mutual appreciation of Techno, Classic House, Indie, Acid and a lingering teenage love of Metal; they began making music together.

Early demos generated murmurs of approval and earned them a residency at the one of the UK’s most prominent club nights, Wax:On.

Shows in the UK and Europe followed along with original EP’s and remixes which won them the support of fans and landed them a guest mix spot on Radio 1.

Summers spent darting back and forth between English festivals and Ibiza residencies were paired with winters spend in a dark studio full of old synths. Those long days helped tighten and focus their sound producing a 3rd EP and a host of remixes for artists including People Get Real, Jon Dasilva, Twin Sister, Everything Everything, Justin Robertson, Dengue Fever and Peaking Lights.

In Hour 2 celebrating 30 years since their first release, on November 16th foundation laying forefathers Smith & Mighty release ‘Ashley Road Sessions’. This special one-off double label partnership between Pinch’s Tectonic and Peverelist’s Punch Drunk is an endeavour in homage to their Bristol neighbours, whom they both hold in high regard.
"Smith & Mighty are true pioneers in music whom I've found deeply inspirational on many levels. Tracks like 'Closer', 'U Dub' and 'Same' are some of my all-time favourites. To be putting out these unreleased gems is such an exciting project for both me and Tom. We both took a great deal of influence from Smith & Mighty – especially from 'Bass Is Maternal' – the album and era from which most of this compilation’s source material originates." Pinch
It’s irrefutable and well documented that Smith & Mighty are integral to the story of Bristol music, but the duo (and occasional trio) are accountable not only as key proponents of that local sound, but also for propagating the wider array of much urban and electronic music, to this day. Live @ 41 Katzen – Kater Blau

Kidnap takes to a secluded perch in the Catskills of Upstate New York to deliver a DJ set showcasing his emotive and captivating sound profile.

This past October, Mixmag teamed up with AKG to bring six artists to Allaire Studios - a musical getaway located in Woodstock, New York - for a unique electronic music retreat. Isolated from the noise of the outside world and provided with a plethora of instruments, recording equipment and refined audio gear, this amiable retreat delivered an exercise in nurturing new musical epiphanies through the spirit of collaboration.

Amongst these six artists was London-based DJ and producer, Kidnap. Formerly known as Kidnap Kid, his maturing sound has recently prompted him to drop the "kid" from his moniker - creating a clean slate that has moved him towards a refreshed creative process. During the retreat, Kidnap dove into his constant pursuit of what he calls the "universal rhythms" that flow through life and demonstrated how this acts as a key element to his rich musical arrangements.

Surrounded by the rolling hills and glassy lakes of The Catskills, Kidnap took the opportunity to score the picturesque location with an hour of warm and resolute music on the balcony of the Allaire Studios.
