For me George Best was the greatest player that ever lived, but suffered from being better at what he did than everybody else. 
At one time in my life I think I was within an inch of becoming an alcoholic and yes at the time it solved all my problems. I was rescued by a beautiful women but unfortunately George was not.
He was one of my greatest heroes and I spent a large amount of my early years trying to emulate some of his football skills. I was given the opportunity to meet him on two occasions and he was a really nice genuine man and I was really upset when he died.
My brother Brian and me completed this recording in one afternoon and he came up with the fantastic bass line, it was always our intention to develop it and take it further.

An alternative version to "Swashbuckling Dandy (Blade)" from the Weaponry soundtrack. Originally I had written this to be Blade's theme but for whatever reason it came out far too depressive and brooding. Still it's a nice piece and I thought this one shouldn't just stay in my rejects bin. I have to say I prefer the revised version that is now part of the Weaponry EP, but this version definitely has something about it I like.

I'm a great admirer of Betty's work and tentatively asked her if she'd like to work on it and make it into something worth posting.  Boy, did she turn it into something worth posting.  Throughout the process, she couldn't have been more kind, helpful and hard-working and I want to pass on my warmest gratitude, not only for her skill, but for her unfailing friendship. So, anyone here likes this track? Apparently many people do. The funny thing about it, is that when Lish and I sat in the studio to collaborate, around 2006, we made a completely different track. But we decided that is wasn't good enough...so we scrapped it, and started a new one - which became 'The light'...  The rest is history. Enjoy!
