Departure Lounge released three critically lauded albums around the turn of the century and then promptly disappeared for seventeen years. 

In September 2019 the band reunited for live shows in Brighton and London (UK) to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of their debut long player, 'Out Of Here'.

In 2021 they released their fourth album, Transmeridian:  thirteen brand new tracks recorded at Middle Farm Studios in Devon with co-producer Peter Miles and featuring special guest Peter Buck from R.E.M. on lead track,  Australia.

The band is currently recording their fifth album, which will be ready for release in 2026.
