Niki Sadeki is a Canadian DJ, producer based in New York. She is a self-taught, high-spirited creative, emboldened by the ideas, minds and sounds scattered in her midst. As a DJ, she’s gradually amplified a signature sound fluidly grounded in deep, progressive, up and downtempo ranges. What carries her sets has less to do with genre and more to do with isolating a mood, and building up different currents around it. Her love for selecting and spreading these moods has seen her found Deep House Vancouver, join the Quetame label ranks, host the Allure show on Frisky Radio, and produce sets for channels around the world, sprinkling the pages of United We Stream, trndmsk, Deep House London and Balance Series. Niki also curates the glistening annual compilation, Mirror for the Sun.

Stell dir einmal vor, du hättest in deiner Werkstatt eine Zeitmaschine stehen. Diese Zeitkapsel basiert auf Berechnungen und Formeln des Physik-Professors Brian Greene, die Tauglichkeit konnte bis jetzt jedoch nicht nachgewiesen werden. Es ist ein Spiel mit dem Feuer und mit der Zeit. Niemand kann mit Sicherheit sagen was passieren wird, wenn du denn kleinen roten Knopf betätigst. Falls es funktioniert, reist du entweder in die Zukunft oder in die Vergangenheit. Natürlich kann es auch sein, dass gar nichts passiert oder es in einer großen Katastrophe endet. Nimmst du das Risiko und die Ungewissheit in Kauf, für die potenziell spektakulärste Erfahrungen deines bisherigen Lebens? Macht eine Zeitreise überhaupt Sinn in Betracht des jetzigen Moments? 

Heute ist Max Marlon mit einem Podcast auf KataHaifisch zu Gast. Auf 61 Minuten präsentiert er uns eine ausgelassene und unbeschwerte Stimmung, versehen mit einer gewissen Prise Nostalgie. Originally hailing from the Australian Outback, Sandman was first exposed to the world of Psychedelic music at his first “Bush Doof” Rabbits Eat Lettuce in 2014. Instantly falling in love with the people and music, he quickly became obsessed with the Zenon sound and all forms of dark progressive music. As time passed his love of dark prog continued to dominate his brain and earns, until finding the legendary producer Peter Groskreutz and his album Red Snow. Falling in love with psy tech and minimal techno he found his new passion, and within a few months played his first gig.  Now with a rapidly growing arsenal of tunes and performances under his belt he looks forward to showing you all things dark and groovy.

Pascal Rudert gehört zu jener jungen Generation DJs, die genau zuhören. Er erwählt für seine Sets das für sich Beste aus dem musikalischen Gestern, Heute und Morgen. Musik bewegt ihn, wenn sie etwas Besonderes aussagt. Das kann über Melodien und Vocals passieren, über eine kräftige Bassline, über das Arrangement des Liedes, oft alles zusammen. Pascal lässt sich dabei nur ungern in ein bestimmtes Genrekostüm pressen, weil zwischen House und Techno so viele faszinierende Produktionen passieren, dass ein weiter Blick auf Musik am meisten Sinn ergibt. Seine Sets werden darüber zu beweglichen, leichten, schlüssigen Tondichtungen, zu einem Befreiungsschlag für das Herz und die Füße. Mit vierzehn Jahren zog es Pascal hinter die Plattenspieler. Vinyl zu mixen ist seither genauso Teil seines technischen und gefühlsmäßigen Selbstverständnisses, wie digitale Tracks ein Muss sind, wenn sie in die Geschichte gehören. Als Resident DJ von Club Zooma und Mitbegründer von Insel der Visionen mit Wahlheimat Dresden hat er sowohl einen Heimathafen gefunden, als auch eine Crew, mit der er sich im Draußen präsentiert. In der schnellen Welt des Beliebigen hält er dabei kurz an und schafft mit sich und der Musik die er spielt etwas Magisches: weniger aufgesetzter Lifestyle, mehr Handwerk – weniger sinnentleerte Performance, mehr Konzentration. Und das überträgt er auf den Tänzerkreis, der ihm zuhört.
