He hails from the state of the victors, Michigan, from Port Huron to Detroit his life on Interstate 94 led to his original rap name, known for the hustle early on, he was also known as a wordsmith throughout the state, so the two mixed and Yay D was born.

With the street life in the rearview, it’s still this artists' canvas, Desmond is a poet for multiple generations in hip hop, with jaw droppin punchlines and  compelling wordplay, he would remind some of a Jay Z or the late great B.I.G., and with a unique ability to freestyle he can hold his own with the best.

With over 200 songs recorded, he definitely has something for every fan of hip hop, in the past seven years he’s shared the stage with the likes of Big Herk, Young Buck, and MGK.
