Synesthesia is main motif for this song, first because of original lyrics, then as I felt like adding it more flavor with female vocals*, & finally when I recently watched some paintings about this matter**.

*Great vocal performance by https://soundcloud.com/maraoldfield is most notorious matter in this piece, where riffing parts toggle with bass-guided proggy ones.

Sweet Escape or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the AI (Feat. Special Cecilia)

Hey…. Thanks for dropping by. April 21st, fresh snow on the ground that hopefully will melt off by the end of the day. Yesterday, I was out transplanting some small Lupine and Columbine plants from out of the lawn. They grew there from seed that spilt from nearby flowerbeds. I put them into a rock garden I recently refurbished. I pulled all the rocks out, dug down to get all the invasive grass roots out, and rebuilt it with a few extra rocks. After that chore, I dug up several Spruce seedlings from the Spruce trees I planted here decades ago. Those little saplings grew up under a lilac bush, so I moved them out into open areas in the backyard. They probably won’t get to be 3 feet tall by the time I pass from this mortal coil, as I am old, but I plant them anyway b/c they’ll most likely still be here when I am gone. Ha. I have been transplanting a lot of volunteer flower plants into my neighbor’s yard, from my vegetable garden in preparation for Spring planting. They find their way into the garden, by wind, bird or however, and I just let them grow, but soon there’s more flowers than vegetables, so I find them new homes. Lastly, I replaced the wonky wheel and axle assembly on my old wheelbarrow, held together by hose clamps, during a snowy day last week, with a wheel from a wheelbarrow I recently got from a pile of free stuff (junk) out on the road, that a neighbor was tossing out. The barrow was cracked, but the wheel/axle were fine. Now I am ready to roll. That is how Spring is here in the mountains…. So several years back, there was quite a large pack of dogs that would freely run around our rural neighborhood. They lived here and loved being able to roam. When I first saw them on my way to the mailbox, they did not know me, and several dogs growled at me. (Rightly so.) Ha. It was a standoff moment for sure. So I just laughed at them. They were not anticipating that. So from then on, we’d have some fun whenever I saw them. Most of those dogs have died over the years. It was sad to see them go. So I included them in this song. This song started as many of our best do, with Chris coming up with it on his acoustic guitar. He shared it with the rest of us shortly after, and we were all very excited to tuck into it. 
  Ken was fist at the trough for this one, adding his jazzy, expressive drums. Josh came in as soon as he had a beat to work with, adding his signature fretless bass to the mix. Not long after that, JJ broke out the hauntingly melodic piano and Shine On You Crazy Diamond timbred synth you hear throughout. 
  Once it had a good structure to it, Mark came in and added the dynamic cello swells that open the song, some subtle strings, the melodic clarinet and flute, and a bit of synth pad near the end to spice up the soup a bit. He also had the great idea to ask Nyla to add some vocals, which she did in her typically dynamic and expressive way using her original lyrics. Last, but definitely not least, we convinced Stephen to add some of his perfectly mood-setting banjo. 
  Once it was all in the can, it actually sat for several months before being revived by Chris, who also did the production and mix, expertly, as always.
   This song is an example of Eclectic Collective coming together to bring another one of Chris' brilliant songs to life. You should check out his new albums on Spotify, which you can find by clicking the link next to his name in the credits. 
  Also, this is our first time collaborating with Nyla K. We wanted to find a way to include her talents on this one, and her vocals here are magical. You can hear a lot more of them on her page if you follow the link next to her name in the credits, too. We hope you enjoy listening to this song as much as we enjoyed creating it.
