I've been playing that new Majora's Mask PC port a lot recently.

✦ ???: It's cold.
✦ ???: Wait.. Wait.
✦ [He sits up, looking around.]
✦ ???: Where am I?!
✦ [He looks around.]
✦ ???: Asteria?
✦ [It sets in his mind. His slight remembrance.]
✦ ???: Oh, yeah. She's not here anymore.
✦ [He rubs his eyes and stands up.]
✦ ???: This must be the universe I ended up in.
✦ ???: This looks nothing like my old home.
✦ ???: Hm.
✦ ???: Why does it feel so long ago? Losing Asteria?
✦ ???: I don't even know the year here.
✦ [He notices something half-buried into the floor.]
✦ [Picking it up, it seems to be some sort of mask.]
✦ [On the inside of it, there's a small print of lettering that can be seen.]
✦ ["Asteria".]
✦ [He starts crying.]
✦ ???: What is the meaning of this?
✦ ???: She's dead.
✦ [There's a note on the ground, near where the mask was found.]
✦ Note: Hey, brother. I know we're leaving soon to the new universe, so I'm writing this as quickly as I can. I made this mask for you, along with the jacket I made for you personally! I hope you can find this mask special. I intended it to make it look like you're smiling no matter what, even if times are rough! These are your birthday presents, so I hope you like them! Happy Birthday to the best brother I could ask for. I love you! -Asteria

Childhood in 7/8 time: Istanbul Before Twelve smells of simit and the sea; it sounds like ferry horns, spoon percussion, and merchants’ cries. Makam melodies meet nu-jazz soul—warm, handcrafted, alive.



This is my first map of Istanbul—from the courtyard to the ferry, from the tea garden to the Grand Bazaar. You’ll hear makam colors, microtones, and aksak grooves in 7/8 and 9/8; saz, oud, kanun, ney, kaval, zurna, darbuka, and davul telling how the city sounded to me before I turned twelve.
Each track is a scene: our block, the neighbor, Teacher Veli (stern and kind), friendship and hospitality, the green valleys, the Bosphorus, the nights, the tea garden, and the journey forward. Between seagulls and ferry horns, nu-jazz and soul blend with a hint of djent—honest, warm, handcrafted.
