Erika loves music. She writes about her emotions, by drawing them through sounds and voice. At 16 years-old, she started composing autobiographical songs that talk about the mixture of feelings of an uneasy adolescence.
 
 
Five years later, her father’s life was suddenly cut short by an accident at work, which finally brought to fights with the paternal family and the need to record her own songs. As in frames, the escape from Biella, a new life in Rome, the love and the disappointments, the state of insecurity and the obvious difficulties happened to be the logical following snapshots of a journey that was just begun.
 
"In 2010, I have finally found my brother again after 8 years of silence and it was like finding the sun after an interminable winter. I've restarted my writing with a more mature and aware approach. I wrote songs about Life, which I love viscerally even when anger is still a part of me. I am what I am. Critical. Illogical. Irreverent."
 
Erika B: this is the name she started using. “B” as “Be”.
 
2011. Dublin. Erika wrote her first songs in English, a language that sounds more interesting rhythm-wise and which better fits her new musical direction. The unavoidable return to Rome and the conclusion of an indescribable relationship after 5 years strongly mark a new beginning. "He is the constant inspiration of my music. He has sucked my heart".
 
2013. Milan. Erika met here Federico Novelli, Flavio Cozzoli, Ivo Masnata and Massimo De Carlo. This is how "the erica leaves" project came to light.
"The band did not have to be named after me. The new sound was different, the goal was larger. I also wanted to feel myself part of a band, to share ideas and finally see the blossoms germinate and grow as they couldn’t over these last years. Ivo came out with the name of the band and unconsciously enclosed my whole life in two simple words: the roots of my name - my father’s memory - and my continuous searching of something, which maybe I will find here".

Il progetto Citizen Kane nasce nel 2004. La scelta del nome è in omaggio al capolavoro di Orson Welles, “Quarto Potere”. I Citizen Kane sono un trio indie rock dai suoni essenziali ed incisivi. I testi - in italiano - alternano temi introspettivi ad insofferenze politiche.
Dopo un primo EP uscito a fine 2004 - “Tutte le parole che ogni giorno perdo” - la band ha iniziato ad esibirsi sui palchi dei principali locali e centri sociali della capitale (Circolo degli artisti, Locanda Atlantide, Init, La Strada...).
Nel 2006, il singolo “Il Giardino dei Rimorsi”, tratto dal secondo EP “Fortezze”, è stato trasmesso a più riprese da diverse radio (Radio Città Futura, Radio Città aperta, Radio Rock) ed inserito nelle compilation “United Forces of Phoenix vol. II” - Nomadism Records e “pRORompente” a favore di radio Onda Rossa. Su jamendo.com, portale dedicato alla musica libera, la canzone è arrivata a 52.000 ascolti (gennaio 2013). Nel 2008, i Citizen Kane sono stati selezionati per le finali regionali di Italia wave. 

Nel 2009, è uscito il “Il male bianco”, cd pubblicato con licenza creative commons. Nello stesso anno la band ha suonato a L’Aquila invitata dal comitato 3e32 e al Meeting delle etichette indipendenti di Faenza. “Il male bianco” è stato trasmesso da decine di radio in Italia e all’estero e inserito nella compilazione#2 - Toten Schwan records. Nel maggio 2011, dopo un live a Firenze per Terra Futura, i Citizen Kane hanno preso un periodo di stop di un anno.
Nel 2012, la ripresa dei concerti con i live all’Imusic festival in apertura agli Asian Dub Foundation e l’esibizione alle finali del premio Amnesty a Rosolina Mare (RO) per la canzone sui diritti umani, in apertura ai Quintorigo. Il 24 aprile 2013 il primo concerto di presentazione del nuovo cd al Teatro Valle Occupato di Roma, insieme a La Linea di Greta.

Cantautore tarantino, autodidatta, che comincia a cantare sin dal 1998 con diverse associazioni locali.

 

Nel 2000 inizia a comporre musica e nel 2004 fonda il sound “Tàbera Roots”, in collaborazione con IDub e Thew-J.

 

Tra il 2005 e il 2006 si occupa dei warm up di concerti del calibro degli Africa Unite, Giuliano Palma & Bluebeaters, fino a partecipare al Rototom Sunsplash del 2006 nell’area warm up pomeridiana.

 

Nel 2008 collabora con la Rebel Soul Band come tastiere e cori, mentre nel 2009 ne è la voce principale e la seconda chitarra.

Nel 2012 crea il progetto “Sensi Shot Studio” con il quale dà il via a delle autoproduzioni in collaborazione con diversi artisti europei, con i quali si occupa di interpretare dei brani inediti, o di produrre autonomamente nuove songs (Sista Lanza – France, Thew-J – Italy, Magnitudo12 - Italy).

 

Nel 2013 e nel 2015 collabora con la

Fresh Band e il M° Giacomo Bortone (sax & clarinetto), Aldo Lato (batteria) ed Andrea Raimo (basso), e porta in tour i suoi brani Reggae Roots.

 

Il 2016 è un anno di crescita e apprendimento, perciò l'attività musicale rallenta per dare spazio a nuove idee.

Nel 2017, oltre a varie collaborazioni estere non pubblicizzate e consulenze di studio, produzione e post-produzione, Shinyman collabora ad un nuovo progetto, fondendo la sua passione per il blues e lo swing con il funk e l'improvvisazione dei "J. Smokers".

Con Aldo Lato (batteria) e Giampaolo Lopresto (basso) vengono fuori sonorità originali e ricercate, in un paio di mesi di improvvisazione, raccolta, ascolto del materiale suonato, ed infine produzione.

REVERSO is the dark electronic side of a respected pianist, keyboardist & composer from Sicily. As an eclectic musician, he touched almost every musical style, performing, writing and composing in various genres and languages, from classical to avant-garde music. 

His vast background led him to produce electronic music in different styles: from straightforward House to dark Techno, passing through a more sophisticated and moody Electronica. His releases have been supported and played by various top players in the electronic music scene (Full Intention, Robbie Rivera, EDX, Sam Divine, Mario Ochoa, Marco Carola, Hollen, Federico Scavo, Simone Vitullo, Luigi Rocca, Rob Roar, Vanilla Ace, Joy Kitikonti to name a few) and have constantly reached high positions in the Beatport charts.
