Irene is a soundsmith and designer based in Porto, Portugal. Her personal work is mainly focused on digital escapism through organic — sensorial aesthetics such as H20 and superfluid ecosystems. Irene's own mix series label, Virgo Equinox, revolves around the concept of 'Synesthesia' by different colors blocks and inspirational cult objects thematics evoking multiple sensorial environments.

Protozonic Remedials [rough edit]

This was recorded during a not so recent snowfall. I was home all day watching the blankets of white fall from the sky and envelop the world outside. I was fiddling around on my DX7 and came up with this cute melody that reminded me of tiny ice crystals, so I looped it and added more layers and effects. Winter is almost over now, but it’s nice to listen back and reflect on some of the marvelous snowfalls we had a few months ago.

Five Car Train To Fremont 2019 Edit

This record is the documentation of Andrés Saenz de Sicilia's performance in the car garage of Villa Lontana on 21 September 2018. A Roman necropolis of more than 160 tombs dating back to the first half of the 1st century BC was recently rediscovered under the concrete garage. The sounds for ’21-9-18’ were built upon a quadrophonic sound system, designed to respond to the physical environment of Villa Lontana’s garage, later rendered to stereo by the artist for the production of this record. The sounds produced consider different senses of weight, density, and time and include a text-sound collaboration between Andrés Saenz de Sicilia and Adam Green, writer, artist and editor of ‘The Public Domain Review’.

'21-9-18' is the first LP to be released by Villa Lontana Records. Andrés Saenz de Sicilia is a founding member of London-based trio Pataphysical who released their debut LP ‘Periphera’ with Glasgow based record label 12th Isle earlier this year.
