Continuing what has been a strong first year, Ruben Karapetyan’s RKP imprint welcomes Yonsh to the label for his debut EP. Hailing from Russia, Vladimir Demchenko aka Yonsh has been a fixture of the progressive house community for the better part of three years. On the strength of early tracks such as ‘Arange’ and ‘Sheld’, Yonsh was tipped as a newcomer to watch. Fast forward a short two years and the Moscow resident now lays claim to an impressive resume with releases via Mango Alley, Sound Avenue and The Soundgarden, while genre tastemakers Cid Inc, Emi Galvan, Ruben Karapetyan, Nicolas Rada and Nick Warren have chimed in with support along the way. Now, continuing on an upwards trajectory as 2023 winds to a close, Yonsh adds RKP to his resume with a two-track showcase entitled ‘Rounding’. 

The title selection 'Rounding’ finds Yonsh operating at his creative peak with a production rich in character and groove. Creating a confident energy from the outset, its rhythmic drive is anchored by chunky basslines, metallic fragments and growling synths, tastefully building to a wild-eyed intensity of glowing pads and flashing percussive arrangements. With a breakdown that exudes spirit, Yonsh pulls from his expansive repertoire, infusing shimmering synths with orbiting effects for the perfect prelude to a powerful drop and chunky grooved-out finale. 

The release concludes with ‘Connect’ which further cements the EP's dancefloor minded ethos. Here, Yonsh's meticulous design and dreamlike elegance conjures up utopian visions, as cutting edge sonics and rolling rhythmic structures layer a bed of pulsating beats and swaying percussion. Ethereal melodies highlight the main break, bringing with them emotion, mystery and intrigue, further revealing the Russian's creative attitude, before a finale of devilish stabs and timely overlays provide a textural rain of melodic colour to round out the EP in style.

ChangedFaces stormed the scene in the summer of 2021 with their debut single 'The Rhythm Of The Night', a sensational prog breaks re-work of Corona's '90s euro-house classic. With global DJ support and radio support from BBC Radio 1, Kiss, and Capital Dance in the UK, it's no surprise the mystery duo have risen quickly with tracks signed to Armada, New State and Sola. In original form, tribal rhythms give way to powerful melodics and a dirty low end grunt. Exploding into life midway, the keyed hook and cinematic pads take you far away to your happy place in the clouds. On remix duties, renowned progressive pioneer, Dave Seaman drops two versions. On the 'Piano' mix chugging drums juxtapose the bright, hopeful keys for a contemporary reimagination. The 'Stabs' version takes a dubbier approach before hammering home with classic organ stabs. Finally, John Cosani delivers a trademark smooth remix that keeps faithful to the original motifs.

The mighty Ejeca reveals his latest EP on Sasha’s Last Night On Earth. Hot off the heels of his chart-topping single ‘Ekstac’, the Belfast born groovemonger delivers yet again with this thought-provoking four-track EP.

Kicking off with ‘Everglade’, where slow-building arpeggios set the pace for a dramatic combination of fluid sounds that bud and flower into a momentous dancefloor moment. Eastern flutes echo over rich synth chords and intricate drum patterns in a minimalistic yet awe-inspiring opening track.

The heavyweight kicks of ‘Your Mind’ deliver the damage from the offset. Here Ejeca fuses in a heavily edited vocal line across a perplexing synth line and the two blend over the rhythms in a twist of blissful elation.
